Earlier last year they said Ellen Degeneres was giving a Hawaii vacation trip away. I was not sure of the deadline and I did enter the sweepstakes but have heard nothing else about it. When I entered her free trip I explained about the passing of my husband on May 31st, 2010. We were married 16 wonderful yrs and this month it would have been 17 yrs. He never would travel unless he could drive there. He was a truck driver and that was the only way we went on vacations, taking the semi on a run to wherever. He would not fly either. He really did suffer the last 4 yrs of his life. He fought for every breathe he took. He had chronic COPD and later came down with cancer right there at the end. I truly need to get away and Hawaii has always been a place I would like to go. Or if Ellen wanted to go to Africa and take some people I would love to go there and see the beauty that is there. I have to admit as a child Africa was one place I wanted to go because I am such an animal lover. So is there any chance that Ellen is giving any trips away or enough money that a person could pay for their trip. I forgot to mention that my husband and I lost our home and land when he got sick. The banks would not even think of working with us so we could keep our home. Now we, (I) live in a seniors complex with low income housing. Ellen my husband worked hard all his life and had never been sick but when he inhaled some fumes in Wisconsin at a brake shoe factory it took him down to his knees, twice. He barely got back in the truck and drove all the way home with his air conditioner going full blast so he could breathe. When he got home he called me and asked me to drop his trailer. When I got there I opened his door and was scared, I called 911 and for 9 days he was on a respirator. We didn’t know if he would ever come home but he did. About every 3 months he was in the hospital after that until he could learn to breath better. I love your show Ellen, you are an amazing woman and I am not just saying that. I use to watch your sitcom, sorry with age I cannot remember the name but it was when you came out of the closet. Do you, are you giving away any trips or money. I know I am not the only one out there needing and wanting something. Life has been hard for all over the last 12 yrs. I have never won anything and my momma always said, “If you don’t ask you will never know.” Thank you for your time Ellen, keep up the good work!
