Is terrorism by definition only confined to one community, or is it a general noun which befits any offender?

which is the group of people that has slaughtered/murdered innocent civilians life the most in history for their personal beliefs/agenda/motive is it the; Islamic community or Israeli or American or Germans or what? Its hard to call because the media doesn’t give as the actual number of casualties, esp. civilians. Help me out on this one. Events of major civilian casualties prior, during and after; 1914-1918 World War I,
1939-1945 World War II, 1950-1953 Korean War-United States and South Korea vs. North Korea and Communist China
,
1960-1975 Vietnam War – United States and South Vietnam vs. North Vietnam
1961 Bay of Pigs Invasion – United States vs. Cuba

1989 US Invasion of Panama – United States vs. Panama
1990-1991 Persian Gulf War – United States and Coalition Forces vs. Iraq
2001 Invasion of Afghanistan – United States and Coalition Forces vs. the Taliban regime in Afghanistan to fight terrorism.
2003 Invasion of Iraq – United States and Coalition Forces vs. Iraq. And the on-going U.S sponsored Israeli attack on Palestinian civilians, hospitals, schools, refugee camps etc… If its justifiable to attack civilians on the grounds of defense, then its applicable to all parties. So do the maths, and tell me who has the most civilians blood in their hands, who is THE TERRORIST In facts? (NOT IN MEDIA).

terrorism means to terrorise… and that can and does happen in all walks of life and it has done since the word dot.

  2. Andrew de Vaughn says:

Terrorism has been a war stratagem since the earliest recordings of warfare. Terrorism is basically guerrilla warfare. That is all guerrilla warfare is. Terrorism. And it is only more effective and terrifying today because of the weaponry and technology available.

That is why I think North America’s declaration of war against ‘terrorism’ is probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. G.W. Bush should have called it a declaration of war against modern guerrilla warfare.

for the first question you asked: in theory, this country (USA) was born and built upon terrorism. think about how (after columbus and magellan and the other “first solo [european] explorers discovered” america), the natives felt. they were unsuspecting of these new “white devils”. as well they should have been. its the american way to have what you want when you want it, or at least try to. the new settlers would pillage the villages and communities of the natives, rape the women, and even enslave some them, whether for work or for sex. so terrorism is the acts or ideas of terrorizing people. it doesn’t matter if its in a village, schoolhouse, church, city or country. i guess it just depends on how many people it effects, what year it was committed in, and where it took place, for it to be considered “terrorism”.

as far as the second question goes: im glad you want-and know the difference between-an honest answer and one the media tries to push. in my opinion, the facts are right there in your examples. look at which country comes up the most. USA. in some way, our government is or was involved in nearly every ‘dispute’ between countries since its amalgamation. now before i get bashed by ultra-patriotic americans, let me tell you that im a white, mid-20 year old american male. im from european descent. half irish, half dutch, from what im told. however, that doesn’t make me blind to the truth.

ill also be the first to admit that i think war, to some extent, is needed. im actually contemplating putting my fairly-well established career on hold to join our armed forces. i respect the men and women that fight for our, and by the looks of it, most of the worlds freedoms, so much, that i feel bad for not doing my part; and i can legally shoot the pieces of shit that would kill off a whole race of people just because some of them believe in a different god. sign me up! don’t get me wrong. im not saying the way that our government is handling things is the correct way to make the scum pay for what they did to our people and country; because i feel that’s not their only motive for being in some of the places that our troops are in; but something should be done to try to ensure that it wont happen again.

our country is heading in a bad direction. i don’t blame republicans or democrats or bush or obama. to be totally honest, i think that the three main causes for most of the worlds problems are greed, organized religion, and the media, and when they are combined, bad things will happen. anyone want to debate that? im up for a nice session.
