MEPS PROCESS FOR THE COAST GUARD?

can i do the whole MEPS thing in florida and then depart for boot camp from new york? I ask this because I have a very sick relative and would like to spend as much time with them before i leave for basic.
you need to talk to the people at meps and your recuiter you might have to fly back to florida because you generaly have to check in at the meps station then they put you on a bus and take you straight to the airplane
The Army can do what they call courtesy ships. You could ship from any MEPS but they would need you packet sent from your original MEPS to them. Not sure about the Coast Gaurd. Check with you Recruiter for sure.
