Lots of Monday morning quarterbacks…small volunteer department in suburban area (aka daytime response issues). Two firefighters on first due rig…no hydrants. Exposures WERE trailers on (B or #2) side…but owners moved them prior to initial attack. Demo modular home… fire resistive const. 400′ Engine to fire…good job considering lack of manpower..and mutual aid 15 mins + away. End result still going to be same…no injuries..and good video. Yep…was there !

  8. dmn110 says:

I wasn’t there but… Why not go in the rear (haha) and hold it to the deck… Instead of helping to push it to the other side of the house….

Why raise a flag on a condemmed building. It was gone, no life hazard, your not gonna save it any way, they didnt do that bad. Sure a more experienced crew, better water supply initally,a lot of things you could say. If there is a reason to be inside lets go, but if there isnt going is stupid. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we’d all have a merry christmas. 39 years in the business big city and volunteer.

@VinPre16 Your spelling is pretty poor. I don’t see any major problems, maybe a little slow getting water, but looks like they had to extend the line. Nozzleman should’ve gone to straight stream, but not the worst mistake. This was an unoccupied demo home, it’s gonna be a total loss. They probably don’t have the manpower to go interior, at least initially. It could be they’ve got a new guy on the nozzle, we all been that guy. They did what they could, Kudos. Ugly ass fire truck though…

  11. VinPre16 says:

ok what is with these guys. their training is prity poor, they’re doing a number of things wrong

I am also on a volunteer fire department. We just had a mobile home fire and we lucky to contain the fire to the back bedroom, but most of these houses are done before the department even gets there. So many people want to bash others on youtube you just have to ignore it.

  13. 47LN81 says:

U are thick…they save the driveway?…same scarcasistic remark.I say both in scarcasim…and you are correct on the volunteer remark

  14. beranek57 says:

@47LN81 how are you gonna save a basement on a mobile home trailer?

  15. beranek57 says:

i bet if u put a volunteer department next to a paid department at a house fire, the volunteers will do more to save the property then the paid departments do

As a firefighter on this dept,it is disappointing to read the comments.

Firemanfury- It is a mobile home…mobile homes dont have attics. 2) The wind was blowing strong from A to C side..if you opened up the back door you would be getting a face full of fire.

Clayggodine- Come on down to the firehall and say that to our faces…Asshole

Chadmcpeek- Obviously your an expert in fighting fires? What dept are you with?

Have respect to the Vol Fire Depts…They may save your life one day

  17. firemanfury1 says:

on this fire i would of made entry on the c side of the structure with either 13/4 or 21/2 line and make interior attacka and gain acces to the attic. with fast attack that fire could have been stopped with a good crew.

  18. Claygoodine says:

These guys are known as the Salisbury slab savers.

  19. chadmcpeek says:

I know what drives you to say no!, Satan the trickster evil death now you know, your not burning because you are good, your burning because you are bad, not worth saving anyway.
