I’m a single mom and can’t take them on vacation anywhere or afford the camps. I make too much to assistance, yet all my money goes to bills and rent. I live in Mountain View, Calif. A friend in Hawaii invited us to stay with her for a week which would save on the hotel, but I can’t afford the airfare.

the park, arts and crafts, team them a sport
swimming pools, the parks and just sight seeing and stuff like that.
Take them to the beach, the zoo, museums, public swimming pools, organize out door picnics with games and activities. (bubble gum blowing contests, craft tables, kite making/flying,) invite other single moms with kids along and share the cost of supplies, and pick a day every week or every other week for all of you to get together for a “fun in the sun” day.
take them to the beach let them bring 1 friend a piece and have a picnic with them sandwiches, chips, and drinks want be to expensive
Just drive to Hawaii.
Single dad here with 2 kids and I have custody. I make just enough money not to qualify for any assistance like food stamps, grant housing, stuff like that. All my money goes to bills, house payment, groceries, car payment.
I have had to pay lawyers and court cost recently to get custody of the kids. Little money in the bank.
I can relate, I have found that just playing outside with them makes them happy, going to the park, museums, usually do not cost much. Check with your city they throw all sorts of free concerts, fairs, and other stuff kids can do. I know it is hard but you asked.
Check your local library for free programs there. Ours has all kinds of things for kids, tweens and teens.
Museums, Libraries, Book Stores, Parks(especially State Parks picnic and bring your own food), Bowling, Afternoon Matinees(many theaters have summer programs). That’s about all I can think of, but maybe these will inspire more ideas.
