Nervous about going to Delaware’s Governor’s school of excellence?!?

It’s like a camp where selected students stay at the university for a week; I was picked to go for visual arts, but I have been kind of dreading going because I’m a shy and quiet person, and scared about not making any friends! I was looking up pictures and videos of it from 2 years ago, and it seemed like most people already knew each other and were hanging out in their own little groups…I don’t want to be left out or judged by others. I’m going in a couple days, and I would really appreciate some words of confidence, or ways to be more relaxed so I can make good friends and not look like a complete loser.

I will be there for the academic program. A lot of other shy people will be there too, you would be surprised what just going for it and introducing yourself to one person will do; from my experience, living with people for a week will make you old friends in hours, so don’t be afraid that you won’t have friends as long as you are open-minded. I’ll add you to my contacts and give you more specs
