Old suburban furnace in RV no longer has power PLEASE READ?

I have a really old Suburban NT30 LP furnace in my 1977 30′ motorhome. It starting running really crappy, like the pilot light would blow out after its cycle and such. Then the blower was getting louder and louder. Then it started clicking on and off, on and off. Now when I turn the heat only thermostat up and down nothing happens. No clicking, or blower kicking on. So would a good first start to be replace the thermostat, for the power purposes, and then work on cleaning out the blower and furnace? That is all I got, any other ideas?

Sounds like to me the first thing you need to do is start at the thermostat. If that don’t do it just google motor home furnace blower and then click on search you will see video’s at the top, start going through them and you will probably find the answer. Sounds like a thermostat to me right now.

I wouldnt replace it just yet. Unless you just want a new one. That is the number one part that every customer thinks needs replaced when they’re furnace craps out. When the a/c quits cooling, they always think its the freon, and when the furnace quits heating, they think its the thermostat. But if a furnace is running improperly or not coming on at all, they are designed to completely shut down to keep gas or fire from entering the unit when its not running safely, then it has to be properly diagnosed and repaired by a heat and air tech. Unless you really think that stat was the cause of the blower noises as well.
