   You could go backpacking. No one uses the term “primitive camping.” By private I assume you mean secluded rather than someone else’s property. Most people go backpacking and camping on public lands like in National Forests, State Parks, etc. Which is why I suggested backpacking, because you can be assured of seclusion in most places.
