Randy Moss, Dennis Green, and Korey Stringer?

I’ve been giving some thought to Randy’s work ethic, which has been lamented for a quite a few years now. I remember him in the 90′s, when he was with Minnesota, and he was really making a name for himself then. This was when Dennis Green was coach, and Korey Stringer(the offensive linemen who died suddenly of heat-related stress during training camp) was alive.

When Korey died, Randy was visibly upset at the funeral. And rightly so. Then, when all the talk about who was responsible for Korey’s death came around, Dennis was looked at with the evil eye quite a few times. He suddenly stepped down as coach of the Vikings, and i think, if i remember right, he was then doing NFL stuff for ESPN. Randy was then shipped to Oakland.

Does anyone out there have the stats for Randy BEFORE Stringer died and Green left? Could the Stringer death, and subsequent stepping-down of Green, have led to Randy’s lackluster attitude?

Anyone wanna give this a shot?
I hope the Raiders get rid of Randy, and yes, I HOPE the Raiders draft Calvin Johnson. This guy WILL be a star, and has a great attitude and work ethic, and will show Randy, whatever team he goes to, just how it’s done!! He has Randy’s size, but he’s built like a Peterbilt!!!! Almost a tight-end, but with GREAT speed!

Yeah but genius it was BEFORE that that Moss said “I play when I want to”. THAT was what REALLY touched off the whole thing against Moss. He gave an interview and openly said that. Face it Moss and Culpepper were a product of each other as far as the NFL Career. That is why BOTH have failed miserably since they lost each other.

Speaking as a die hard Viking fan……..absolutely not! I don’t know his stats pre and post stringer, but he has always been only out for himself and to hell with what his teammates think. Culpepper was terrific connecting up with Moss, but even he said Randy needed to go away as he was dividing the team.

Here are Randy’s stats (see link).

I think you are reaching though. Moss’s success in Minnesota was a combination of things that really weren’t related to Corey Stringer. That Vikings team was a good team, Moss was just the rising star.
