Road Trip from New Mexico to Michigan…..?
So, my future mother in law and I are going to go on a road trip. We are leaving from New Mexico and heading up to Michigan. She has asked me to plan it. We are planning to camp out instead of staying at hotels and do alot of sight seeing. What are some hotspots that we should not miss? Any advice is welcome since i am out of my element here and she is an expert at planning these types of things. I would really like to show her a great time.
we would probably be going through North Texas, oklahoma, missouri, illinois, nortwest tip of Indiana and then to Michigan.

If you can handle the humidity you could hop off the freeway for a bit and head into the ozarks mtns. in SE missouri very beautiful and lots of camping you can do there. In NW indiana there’s the indiana dunes national lake shore on the shore of lake Michigan. Very good for hiking not sure about camping but I would imagine there’s campsites there. Plus if its real hot a nice dip in lake michigan is very refreshing. As for N texas and oklahoma its a little boring there. Oklahoma has some nice hiking in the SE as well in the ouachita mtns.
