Skyline Freestyle Toyhauler RV warning

Don’t buy a trailer from Skyline, they SUCK. What else can I say, I live in a desert and these wheels are totally rusting away. The wheels on any vehicle should last at least the life of the vehicle. The tires are no better. The tires and rims they use are only rated for 1820 pounds each, x 4 = 7280 . GVWR for this trailer is 7700 pounds, minus the hitch weight of 652 = 7048. 7280-7048=232 extra pounds of capacity. Thats just not enough when using Chinese made junk tires. If they had used the Goodyear 225/75 R15C tires it would add 300 pounds capacity per tire, putting the total tire capacity at 8600 pounds. That would be acceptable for a trailer this size.

I know they make a great product but agree you have a problem with the rust, they all do it with the chrome wheels. My Skyline Rampage have the 16” Aluminum wheels…stock. I think the dealer did a swap….not the factory.
This was no dealer tire swap. This trailer was put together in Hemet California. I spoke with the manager at that location and all he said was “it’s a supplier issue”. I’m just gonna leave these rusty wheels on there for everyone to see. The rest of the trailer is doing ok. My only goal with this video is to take away as many sales from this great company as I can. If they won’t come to the table with an offer of some real wheels, I will continue to punish them whenever I can.
Did the dealer pull a tire swap? Check some other Skylines and see if their tires match the tag. I would think the DOT would need to know about this.
Also, what about the rest of the trailer, is it leaking water or falling apart, or is it just the tires and wheels?
Wow thanks I’m definitely not buying one of these any time soon.
