Teens what brands are popular where you live?

I live in Northern Virginia. I consider myself not a label whore. I can deal with clothes and shoes from off brand stores. I enjoy shopping at Payless for shoes. And personally I feel Abercrombie is an overpriced breeding ground for superiority and narcissism.. Why would I buy a pair of jeans for $70 that have a hole in them? I can do that for free. I only shop there when they have stuff on sale.

These are stores that people shop at where I live
1.) Vans
2.)North Face( Ok, I had a North Face sweatshirt in the sixth grade people. It’s not that impressive. You only wear it for the label, not for the quality. The North Face is normally sold at camping stores. A place you would never step into)
3.) Sperry’s( They look like old man shoes)
4.) Uggs( I’m satisfied with my knock-offs I got at Charlotte Russe for $100 cheaper)
5.) Abercrombie( No comment)

So teens what brands are popular where you live? Sorry if I’m come across as snobby, I feel kids my age have become label whores. All they want is the most expensive brands. Then they get upset when their parents don’t take them there. Show some gratitude to your parents.
6.) Hollister( Only shop when they have stuff on sale)
I love H&M! Their clothes are affordable and fashionable. I would rather look fashionable and polished, instead of looking like a poser in an Ambercrombie t-shirt like everyone else.

  3. Devyn A. says:

American Eagle, Aeropostale, Hollister, and Abercrombie.

At my school it’s AE and Aero. Hollister and Abercrombie are still worn, but it’s discouraged.

    Converse shoes and Ugg boots

I am a teen and i think abercrombie and hollister are over priced, people arn’t really big on brands this year except from superdry (half of my wardrobe), teens are more bothered about new look, and primark!

  5. iPod Freak898 says:

AEROPOSTALE. I swear, everybody in my school has at least one item from that store.

I live in South West England. We are in the middle of a recession so nobody has enough money to buy things like Ugg boots (which are about £250 – or $458 ish) but:

    River Island
    TopShop
    Maybelline
    Dorothy Perkins
    Peacocks
Clarks (shoes, expensive but very good quality)
Brantanos (shoes again, cheap and not very good quality)

I know EXACTLY what you mean. It’s not snobby: I don’t really care where I buy clothes as long as they look good and aren’t extortionate prices. I go to private school: my family doesn’t have enough money to buy me luxuries. I take what I’ve got and be thankful for it.

  8. Ralph Lauren Polo -She Fancy- says:

I live in Southern Mississippi in a very small town. Everybody pretty much wears the same thing.

    1) Low top Converse (a lot of people say high top Converse are ugly).
    2) Sperry’s (boating shoes – everybody here likes to fish).
    3) Hollister, American Eagle, Aeropostale, etc. (I like to avoid those stores).
    4) Ralph Lauren (I love Ralph Lauren!)
    5) North Face – yeah, I see a lot of people wearing those…it’s no big deal.
    6) Air Jordan, Nike, Adidas…
    7) Clarks (they are so ugly and uncomfortable! I have a pair that I only wear to school).

-North Face (Like the backpacks and stuff)
    -Nike’s
    -Converses
-Ralph Lauren Polo- (I don’t wear it, but my brother is obsessed).

Vans, Hollister, Abercrmbie, etc. are popular at my school also. I totally feel where you are coming from. I myself shop at thrift stores for my clothes. I don’t give a crap what the name brand is, I just care if I like the clothes. I’m not going to spend $100 on a piece of clothing when I can spend that much in a whole day of thrift shopping.
I am so glad someone else feels this way. People go to school decked in their fancy, expensive clothes looking like a bunch of posers. I just sit back and laugh because I’m saving my hard-earned money for something more important-college.

    -Fred Perry
    -Henleys
    -Sergio Tachini
    -Ted Baker
    -UGGs
    Superdry
    -Louis Vitton

those are the most popular but i’d be here all night if i named them all.

  12. Rawnyy :D says:

I live in Southern California. There are a bunch of different “cliques” but here is what’s popular in my perspective:

    Vans
    Obey
    Nike
    Forever 21
    H&M
    Anything found in Zumiez

  13. Jensen Beier says:

I live in the Midwest, so you might think we are a bunch of farmers, but at my school having the brands are how you become someone (probably because they are so hard to acess there). I also have to be honest I am a label whore.

    1. North Face, the only brand you can wear for a coat at my school (if you want to fit in)
    2. Sperry Topsiders, I actually like their high top ones
    3. Toms, rich people think they are saving the world when they buy them
    4. Juicy Courture, really the only option for velour and terry cloth jackets at my school (if you want to fit in)
    6. Coach (everybody has a pair of their shoes, but only the really exclusive kids have their bags)
    7. Besty Johnson (sadly the only wallet you can carry if you want to be accepted)
    9. Miss Me or Big Star Jean (your jeans are only good if they cost over $100, at my school)
    10. Free People (shirts only)
    11. Uggs (personally I think they are ugly knock offs included but I still own then, very sad)
    12. Concet Tee Shirts (I know this is not a brand but it seems that to show off you wear them to gym and stuff, they are outragusly priced plus you have to go to the concert to get them)
    13. Nike Tempo Shorts (the only shorts you can wear to PE, besides UnderArmour)
    14. College World Series Tees (this is another weird one, but in the midwest the college world series comes and only if you have money can you go, so having an up to date college world series tee is a big plus or if you have a tee shirt from a college with a high tuition rate)
    15. Abercrombie is not a huge brand, people just have it but at our school if you wear Hollister you are a fat loser because you cannot aford Abercrombie (werid huh)? Also never, ever wear Aeropostal that is just social sucide
    16. Personalized Nike High Tops or exclusive High Tops from Nike
    17. PINK
    18. Expanisve Bright Colored Nikes (not any Nike shoe will do, they have to be bright and look pricy)
    19. Burberry Scarfs ( who wants to pay $680 dollars for a scarf, I guess I do if i want to fit in)
    20. Lacoste
    21. Ralf Lauren
    22. Silver Jeans (sure they only cost $85 but they are still in style)
    23. American Eagle, but only select products. The skinny jeans are an okay item to wear at my school, but do not wear a shirt that says American Eagle, that is just plain wrong if you want to fit in.
24.Apple, I know this doesn’t have to do with clothes, but the only acceptable computer to have in an Apple computer
    25. Billabong, once again only select items

Here are a few of the big ones. As I typed these I relized what a loser I am, because I own every single one of these items. I have probably spent over $5000 dollars on clothes that are basic and some that are really ugly. My school is plain werid and I personally need to change!

  14. Natalie!  (It's nearly Christmas! :)) says:

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, and here the majority of people wear clothes from River Island, H&M, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, and Urban Outfitters. Uggs are also very popular here lol:)

  15. ɱaɾყ♥ says:

    1. Abercrombie
    2. Hollister
    3. Aeropostale
    4. American Eagle/ aerie
    5. Uggs
    6. Emu
    7. Roxy
    8. Pink
    9. Nike

I don’t really like any of these, except American Eagle, I shop there when there’s a sale.
I like vintage stores the best.

  16. Amilah.x3 says:

Forever 21, hollister, northface, uggs, moccasins, Ralph Lauren polo shoes and flip-flops.

  17. Mlf2014 says:

    Popular around me:
Hollister (this is a big one)
    Aeropostale
    Northface
    Converse
    Uggs

I agree! I love looking cute, but places like H&M, T.J. Maxx,Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls has really cute clothes for CHEAP! Plus no one else has the same stuff as you!

I think that these brands have cute clothes, but the price people pay for the label is rediculous. My older sister really wants a northface and Uggs for christmas, but for 200$ cheaper, you could find boots and a hoodie just as cute!

  18. Bethany says:

    Aeropostale is most popular.
    Then comes Hollister.
    Some kids like American Eagle.
    Only a few wear Abercrombie.

  19. Eric R says:

lmfao will thats bc they want to be cool and fit in not like u

  20. peace, love & all that good stuff says:

I’m in a Pennsylvanian high school and all that label stuff was sooo 6th grade.
    1. Vans- I have never seen anyone in my school wear vans, unless they are those like emo designs that the skateboarders wear.
    2. True, most of us wear North Face, but we live in Pennsylvania, and all of us go camping at least twice a year.
    3. Sperry. Yes, they are old men shoes. But we live so close to jersey and delaware, a lot of us go boating, and that’s what they are for, they’re boat shoes. They are mean to get wet!
look at this facebook album: its full of sperry top sider people’s lives!

    4. Uggs, again, we live in PA, very cold, these are surprisingly warm!
    5. Abercrombie, elementary schoolers wear them
    6. Again, elementary schoolers wear them.

At my school, The North Face, Uggs, and Sperry Top Siders are popular, just because they fit our lifestyle. Other things that are popular are: Macy’s, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Express, Forever 21, and TJ Maxx. My school isn’t so much label whores, but we rely on being fashionable. Anyone that does not dress as a model everyday is shunned. Its sad, because its more expensive than these brands. People wear heels, dresses, tights with skirts, curl their hair everyday (straightening isnt ‘in’ anymore) and soo much jewelry! but yes, i understand.

    Orlando, FL
    (High School / College), Male

    Abercrombie and Fitch
    Hollister
    American Eagle
    Sperry
    Aeropostale

Okay, So I may be kinda picky about my brands, but I am not an idiot a find good deals. I just bought and Abercrombie long-sleeve blue with white stripes (a somewhat dressy shirt) for 15.00 USD And Hollister tee for 12, Hollister jeans for 30. AE jacket for 30, off the top of my head. Oh and Sperry’s for 42. Anyway I have a few graphic t’s (New york Giants being 1 of them :) )
AFAIK The North Face is not popular here, just 2 years ago they were considered cheap-o bc they actually were cheap, I’ve owned one before. I just don’t see how something so plain could be popular. Ahhh our generation :D . Could someone post a pic of these “Clarks”?

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
