This is a question for girls only, it’s about my period…?

I got my period May 24th and like two weeks before that I had started “spotting” and then so I got it on May 24th and my “flow” came May 26th and then it lasted like 7 days and now it’s June 27th and there’s still no signs that I’m getting it. I just turned 14 May 26th (yeah i know i’m so lucky for getting my first period on my birthday lol!!) so idk what is wrong or is it just normal and will it just come in another few days? From what i’ve heard it’s normal for it to come again after 28 days but it can be more or less, but I have camp in Texas and we leave for that July 6th and we’re taking a plane there and everything and I just want to know if it will be done by then cuz i REALLY dont want to be getting it at this camp where there will be lots of swimming (its a seaworld camp) so will it come or what?!?!?

It’s going to take your body a while to settle into a regular cycle. And some women are never regular. You’re just going to have to be prepared all the time. I know that’s not the answer you wanted, but it’s the truth.

When you first start getting your period, unfortunately it can be quite irregular. My daughter started much younger than you (she was 9!!!) and she had one or two, then didn’t have one for SIX months, then started up again, and now at age 11 she is pretty regular.

You may skip this one altogether, there really isn’t any way of knowing. Just take the supplies you need on your trip, and keep your fingers crossed! Maybe you’ll get lucky and not have it while you’re travelling.

Unfortunately, it can be hard to plan. Take tampons, so you can swim without a problem. You may want to look into going on the pill, which generally shortens your period, lessens PMS, and usually regulates when you get your period (for example, I get mine on the monday of the “off week” every month).

At your age, and when you just get your period, it is normal to have irregularly. I might get it after 2 weeks, you might get it after 28 a month, and I might not get it for next 2 month. Your period still didn’t stabilize, it will go irreguraly, so m only advice is just pray and hope it wont start.

dont worry you are fine – your body may not regulate itself for at least 1 year after you start your cycle.

I would pack your feminie supplies and be prepared for your trip. You will still have a good time don’t worry.

Also you should not use tampons for 1 year according to my gynocologist.
Take panty liners and reg. pads.
Your flow should stop while you are in the water and then you can quickly go to the ladies room and put a liner and some shorts on.

    good luck

It should be coming again any day now. You don’t necessarily have to have any signs before hand, especially as young as you are. For the first year or so your period may be a bit irratic and this is normal. Just make sure you are always prepared ’cause you just never know. As far as going to camp and swimming and stuff the best advise I can give you is to learn how to wear tampons. You can swim and be as active as usual wearing tampons and no one will have a clue that you’re on your period. Good luck.

No affense but you will be getting your period thrue out most of your life, i suggest you just get used to it wether you are going to camp or not. If you wear a tampon you can go swimming no problem, it might me horable to think about wearing a tampon at 1st but if you get a small size and insert it right, you wont even notise the tampon. You could always ask your doctor to prescribe you Birth Control pills to regulate your periods, and when on Birth Control it will take away all your puberty spots and you wount get any pain during your period and your periods will be very light, plus when on birth control you dont even need to have a period. Dont worry you wont be the only teen on Birth Control, many teens are using it just for there periods. If you ask your mum about it then im sure she can tell you more about it.
