We just purchased an older camper and want to remodel it?

It is in need of major updating. Walls, floor, counter and cushions. I am not sure if their is someplace that has information on remodeling a travel trailer. I want to chang the color of the inside which means the walls, curtains, table cushions, couch, carpet and flooring. The sink sags and needs to have a new counter top and the floor in the kitchen sags and needs to be replaced. Any suggestion on books, magazines or internet I would appreciate the help.

About the best thing I could suggest would be look in your Yellow Pages. I found a great place for all our cushions and curtains to be covered and had alot of color choices. It sounds like you really have a project going on. Try calling Motorhome dealers or Camping World stores they have alot of great stuff that’s made just for campers and trailers. Have Fun it will be worth it when it’s all done.

Before you start spending money, Check for rot in the structure. If you have alot, it may cost you a bundle to fix up this camper. It is sometimes better to buy one in a little better shape structure wise and do more cosmetic work.

I have restored 2 vehicles from the ground up and they cost me a fortune – I would now buy a project in good condition and pay a little more – you end up spending less

I totally agre with the previous answerer. It`s nothing at all like remodeling a house. 1st off the walls on most RV`s are all bonded together, which makes removal of paneling tedious if not impossible. The other amenities your thinking of replacing need to be calculated very carefully for much needed space and trafic flow. You may be possibly finding yourself spending more money than you really want to spend on a unit of this age. I can almost guarantee the deeper you dig in this project the more problems you`ll find.
