    I know.

There’s no tent camping in Huntington Beach. You’re probably thinking of Bolsa Chica State Beach, where they allow RV’s only.

If you want tent camping, the closest is Doheny State Beach, in Dana Point. You can have up to two tents, and up to 8 people total per site. Cost is about $20 per night. You can make reservations at http://www.reserveamerica.com. In January. It’s all booked up through summer.

I suppose you could try Newport Dunes. They cater mostly to RV’s, and are very expensive. For the prices they charge at ND, you could get a hotel.
