What’s the best area to stay in at Outer Banks, North Carolina (OBX)?

We usually go to Virginia Beach but we’d like to try something new this year. Heard great things about OBX, but we don’t know where the best spots are.
We will probably go camp with a 22′ motor home and we’d like to be close to the beach (walking distance if possible), and close to the night life and other entertainment.
We are in our mid-upper 20′s. What area of OBX is good for us?
No where. NC sucks. Go somewhere else.
If you want to be near the night life and entertainment, then you want to stay in the Kill Devil Hills/Kitty Hawk/Nags Head area. These three towns pretty much run together and you really don’t know when you have left one and entered the other.
