   The mountains surrounding L.A. are National Forest, so make sure you have the correct permits, gear, and know-how to use it.

   Los Padres National Forest a little north.

   In order to protect our forests, it is necessary to camp in campsites. However, it seems you haven’t heard of Yellow Post Campsites:

   Check out the Upper Sespe in the Los Padres National Forest. It’s accessible via Fillmore or Ojai.
