WHERE can I buy a small camping plot in the Dakota’s or Wyoming?
by admin on Wednesday, July 6th, 2011 | 3 Comments
Im looking for small (0.1 to 3 acre) plot of land to but in either North or South Dakota or possibly eastern Wyoming. It does not need to have power or near a town. Just something to pitch a tent on and call my own a few times a year. Im not wanting to spend more than 800.00 on it. I checked Ebay, Craigslist, and Landwatch. No luck…
Thanks for your help

Spin e-mails off to real estate agents in the areas you are considering. A building lot in Summit County costs $250,000. Good luck with $800.
Check with small town realtors. You could also run an ad in a paper local to where you’d like to be.

There are lots in your price range available, you just have to look. (Not in oil country, though.)
You may not realize it but the Dakotas and Wyoming have building codes and land use zoning just like the rest of the country. You can’t just go and camp on a subdivision lot or even a multiple acre parcel without complying with the local health department ordinances and zoning laws.
