Where can I locate the health code standards for MI? Trying to prove or disprove whether shirts are required..

I’m the Health Officer for a summer camp in Michigan and a lot of kids try and just wear their bathing suits into the dining hall without any clothes on top of it. I’m trying to figure out if that is a health code violation or not. Thanks!

Good question. I don’t know if someone from the health department would come down there to see if a bunch of kids at summer camp are following the rules.
I think it’s more important for the kitchen staff to be fully covered though. I know they have to wear hair netting if they have long hair and wear protective gloves for handling food.
Things were a lot simpler when I was growing up. But then we didn’t have a prissy whimp society to cater to either.
As kids we drank from a garden hose.
Always check with michigan.gov – you can find just about everything on there! (Including contact phone numbers for those sorts of questions.)
