    there’s a hostel in Ocean Beach, San Diego. but those camps don’t really exist on the beach.

    There’s a motor home camp at Mission Bay, too.

    You cannot legally camp on the beach in California. There are some parks next to the beach that have campsites but they are not free and they are not “on the beach.”

    As long as it is not a “state” beach they typically don’t charge to stay on the beach. But even if they do charge a fee it is minimal, less then $20.

    are a few beaches where i live but since they are more northern they are also hold colder waters.
