Anywhere in the national forests, wilderness areas would be best

You may hike in the wilderness. You may dispersed camp for up to fourteen days in the wilderness, as long as you are at least a hundred feet off wetland, trail, or road. You may hunt in compliance with Colorado Department of Wildlife regulations. Depending on your location, Eagles Nest Wilderness Area extends from Heeney to Silverthorne, west of the highway, and west to Vail, north of the freeway. Holy Cross Wilderness Area extends from Minturn to Leadville, west of the highway.
Many forests and parks allow it but be sure to check about there hunting rules/laws first. Some have times you can and can’t hunt. Some you can’t hunt at all. All violations lead to hefty fines.
There is a great app to help with finding the perfect spot to camp and hike. The app i use is Pocket Ranger, this app can find you a great camping location based upon the other activities you would like readily available in your camp site.
For hiking there isa deluxe version of Pocket Ranger that can gps your location regardless of if you have cell service or not! This tool helps me get out of the terrible situations i get myself in when hiking.
Hope this helps!
