Why do liberals think the years under Clinton was “peaceful”?

Liberals are confused or at best in denial, Clinton ignored the warnings and signs leading up to 9-11 and allowed terrorism to grow in strength instead of fighting it, of course what can you expect from yet another liberal lawyer.

1993
Feb. 26, New York City: bomb exploded in basement garage of World Trade Center, killing 6 and injuring at least 1,040 others. In 1995, militant Islamist Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman and 9 others were convicted of conspiracy charges, and in 1998, Ramzi Yousef, believed to have been the mastermind, was convicted of the bombing. Al-Qaeda involvement is suspected.
1995
April 19, Oklahoma City: car bomb exploded outside federal office building, collapsing wall and floors. 168 people were killed, including 19 children and 1 person who died in rescue effort. Over 220 buildings sustained damage. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols later convicted in the antigovernment plot to avenge the Branch Davidian standoff in Waco, Tex., exactly 2 years earlier. (See Miscellaneous Disasters.)
Nov. 13, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: car bomb exploded at U.S. military headquarters, killing 5 U.S. military servicemen.
1996
June 25, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: truck bomb exploded outside Khobar Towers military complex, killing 19 American servicemen and injuring hundreds of others. 13 Saudis and a Lebanese, all alleged members of Islamic militant group Hezbollah, were indicted on charges relating to the attack in June 2001.
1998
Aug. 7, Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: truck bombs exploded almost simultaneously near 2 U.S. embassies, killing 224 (213 in Kenya and 11 in Tanzania) and injuring about 4,500. 4 men connected with al-Qaeda 2 of whom had received training at al-Qaeda camps inside Afghanistan, were convicted of the killings in May 2001 and later sentenced to life in prison. A federal grand jury had indicted 22 men in connection with the attacks, including Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden, who remained at large.
2000
Oct. 12, Aden, Yemen: U.S. Navy destroyer USS Cole heavily damaged when a small boat loaded with explosives blew up alongside it. 17 sailors killed. Linked to Osama bin Laden, or members of al-Qaeda terrorist network.

Just think IF Clinton was a real man and got OBL before he left office, 9-11 would not have had the mastermind to plan it, so blame Bush if you want to, but in fact, Clinton was a coward and did nothing but arrest a few.
“Because Clinton knew how to handle these things and keep people calm about them. ”
Correct Clinton IGNORED these things as you put it.
“Bush ignored important papers” Clinton IGNORED all of the above terrorist acts and IGNORED the threat of OBL for 8 YEARS and did nothing to get him.
“Because our military wasn’t weakened from a war that should have never been fought.”
Who do you think weakened the military? it was CLINTON he cut it in half

The media sets the tone by which the public views current events. I blame the media for giving g Clinton a pass.

  2. Angel Marie says:

Oh okay so now 9-11 blame goes as far back as the clinton years, are you kidding me. Bush ignored important papers while he was on vacation, that doesn’t sound like the clinton years to me. He himself as the current president at the time could have prevented it from happening had he been doing his job.

  3. jo P says:

Wow are u comparing this to all the carnage caused by Bush? I hope ur not.

  4. Schmitty Rocks! aka Lola says:

you got that reversed, bush the dimwit ignored all the intelligence and allowed 911 to happen just so he can start an illegal war in iraq and enrich his oil buddies

  5. chg3 says:

dude you are harshing their buzz!

    that is so not kewl!

  6. ddd says:

    Because they INHALED

  7. Christine M says:

WOW a “bomb” in NYC in 1993. Big deal do you know what crime was like in NYC in 1993. Why worse then that.

  8. GO BOSTON!! says:

Because Clinton knew how to handle these things and keep people calm about them. Bush has made us look bad, feel unsafe and ruined our image around the world. That’s why the economy was so good under Clinton, because he knew how to keep people calm and reassure people… something Bush completely lacks. Do you honestly think it made people wanna go out and buy stuff when everyday on the news we had a meter then never went down for our chance of being struck by a terrorist attack?

  9. njb444 says:

Iraq War: 4000+ Americans killed. 90,000+ Iraqi civilians killed.

    There’s no comparison here.

  10. e.sillery says:

I hope you realize your post is too long for most liberals to read since it didn’t start out with … “Our Savior Barack Obama….”

If the main issue is 4000+ American service members dying in Iraq then why are the ones that are actually there or have been there support Bush by a large majority? Perhaps they have inside knowledge of what it is really like unlike the 20 somethings on here that don’t have the balls to join up.

  11. rml313 says:

    AMEN

  12. Jules says:

I don’t understand this kind of thinking. What is it you are trying to prove? That Bush wasn’t the worst president in the history of the US? Sorry, but most Americans believe so.

Clinton is an intelligent and extraordinary person. He has done and continues to do great things. I know for a fact that he would never have led us into a immoral war against a country that had nothing to do with 911.

Bashing liberals or trying to prove that YOUR SIDE is the better side is what is wrong with this country. It is why congress usually can’t get anything done. Our country is in trouble, no one is interested in your childish nanny nanny boo boo crap.

EDIT: take a look at this…

EDIT: Did you catch that? Huh? Did you hear what he said? The REPUBLICANS wouldn’t AUTHORIZE him to get Bin Laden. THE REPUBLICANS!

    You’re a stupid dumb*ass

  13. Emilio O says:

    They weren’t

  14. jm says:

The Clinton years weren’t perfect, but they weren’t as God-awful as the Bush years.

These last eight years not only sucked… but Bush had to go and have a grand finale, by somehow orchestrating a nation-wide economic crisis, just before leaving office. Thanks, Dubya!

  15. crazykid2929 says:

Because our military wasn’t weakened from a war that should have never been fought.

And I wasn’t in constant fear that a terrorist would drop a nuclear bomb on our country because President Clinton was intelligent and quick thinking.

  16. Byron P says:

I’m a so-called liberal and it’s never been “peaceful” in all of my 43 years!

  17. I just want to scream says:

He was busy with Monica lol.Sorry couldn’t resist. He did well at covering his tracks. We had jobs gas was cheap and food was to that is all most people notice or care about.

  18. svs22422 says:

    well,do i really need to say?liberals!

  19. Rayne Storm says:

The ones who say that are unaware of history, and only became interested in our election process and presidency THIS year…One of them assumed it to be so, since they all bash Bush and not Clinton, so the rest of them accepted it as fact (because it sounded good to them), then they all repeated it (like they do).

Real facts don’t matter to these people…They won’t even attempt to verify or listen to the facts if they don’t represent what they want to hear or believe.

They will be all indignant because I said this, but it’s absolutely true and THEY prove it every single day…Actually, the election of Obama proves it above all else.

  20. John V says:

AND HE DIDNT DO DIDDLY ABOUT IT EITHER, BUT WAS GOOD AT TALKING TRASH ON WMD’S IN 1996 BEFORE BUSH WAS PRESIDENT
