Why the big deal about the New York Post cartoon?
A cartoon in which two police officers shoot a chimp has the usual professional victims coming out from under their rocks.
One of the officers remarks about someone else having to be found to write a stimulus bill as they shoot the chimp.
Al Sharpton & a handful of other irrelevant characters are now protesting the cartoon claiming…but what else, RACISM.
The cartoon is clearly a parody of the recent chimp attack in Connecticut. It was a cartoonists commentary on what HE thought of the current stimulus bill.
Sharpton & company have once again managed to spotlight themselves using their usual race card – claiming the chimp is supposed to symbolize Obama.
The only ones relating Obama to the chimp are Shaptons camp.
Do you think they have a valid complaint or are they desperately reaching for one?
Do you understand the cartoon or do you somehow link the chimp to Obama?
That’s the thing thought – they DIDN”T compare the chimp to Obama.
It was making fun of what the cartoonist thought was a poorly drafted bill.
The only ones cannecting Obama to a chimp are the people b1tching about it.

they compared the chimp to p. obama..
not really nice.
Who authored the stimulus package? Obama. Who else could it possibly refer to, do tell?
The cartoon is obnoxious and unfunny, like most of the cartoons this paper prints and like all the garbage its owner, extreme right-wing Australian and infamous megalomaniac Rupert Murdoch, puts out through his papers and TV stations worldwide. It is quite clearly a crude attempt to link Obama to a chimp that needs to be killed.
The actual joke, of course, is that the REAL chimp lookalike in recent White House history is one G W Bush.
One of the most disturbing things I’ve heard in a long time; the NY Post is still in business?! and people actually read it??! Woe is me, what is the world coming to???
I agree. I’ve heard Bush nicknamed “Smirky the Chimp” or “Chimpy.” You didn’t see David Duke up in arms about that. Oops, I said “up in arms” as a chimp might gesture. Are the Y!A people going to delete this answer for TOS?
EDIT: Obama did not author the stimulus package!

The exact quote was “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.” You can’t sit there and say that wasn’t racist when you compare Obama to a chimp regardless of how you try to spin it.
Obama might not have personally written the bill but he is the one responsible for it. Ergo, the cartoon caption was clearly referring to him. I agree, it’s obnoxious and crude and typical Murdoch.
right on! the chimp attack was my first thought
The chimp incident in Conneticuit was a big deal along the northern east coast, but not everywhere in America heard about it, and therefore don’t realize that incident took a huge role in drawing this cartoon.
Al Sharpton is an opportunist, he will take anything he can to cry foul. The Spending bill was not written by Obama it was written by Pelosi, and Sharpton and other liberal media people are going to take advantage of people’s ignorance of this fact. This is how the left works.
The chimp shot is use as a reference to the spending bill like the age old joke. 1000 monkeys at 1000 typewriters and you’ll have Shakespeare. But the Spending Bill is by far so bad it’s like a monkey did write it.
