Would like to sell our camper trailer but….I do not have a title OR bill of sale on it?
ByWe live in New Mexico. I have a camper trailer that was bought by my ex and I. We went thru a divorce 3 yrs ago and I kept the camper but he says he did not have the title…Anyway, My neighbors want to buy it but I don ‘t have a title or a bill of sale. When my ex purchased this, he never registered it at all so I would guess the title would still be in the guys name who sold it to him! So if I went to DMV would I need a bill of sale to get a lost title for this? Any good help would be very much appreciated.

You’ll have to track down the current legal owner and get a signed title release from him or her. You cannot do a lost title, only the legal owner can. You can’t register, title, or sell it until you get the release from the owner.
If you cannot track down the legal owner you may need to apply for an abandoned title. Figure 6 months at least, if your state even has such a procedure; not all states do.
