1971 Starcraft Pop up camper?

I have a 1971 Starcraft camper that needs the lift cables replaced I can’t afford to spend the money to have it fixed but I will buy the parts and I can pay someone $200 maybe $300 dollars to replace all the cables on the side I have some kind of directions to go buy if you have experince with this or you can point me in the right direction to do this myself I would appreciate it so much! (needs to be done before 5/3 we are suppose to be going away)

i own a repair shop and i had one of these once ,you can do these your self, they come with a real good set of instructions when you order the cables for them and this makes it easy to do ,i had never done any either until i got one,and when i ordered the cables i figured it out,and the new cables came with a good rubber coating on them to make them last good,but there not that bad to do ,i did mine one at a time,and it turned out to be a pretty easy job,you can do it though if you,ll take your time with it,good luck hope this helps.

when you get ready to change cables start with the top blocked up at about the half way point so you can get in and out and are Able to pull the lift mech. if need be in each corner.when you ordred the cabled make sure that you give vin number of unit so you recieve correct cables.look at web site for manufacturer and see if they may have a tech line that you can email and get the correct install diagrams
