@starlionblue not a design flaw, think of it this way, it would prob cost the consumer a hundred extra bucks because of the extra time it would take to purchase assemble and install a hydrolic arm because your lazy ass cant lift up 5 pounds of lid and if you have a long item maybe put it in from one of the sides? And the arm in the middle means the lid wount sag on either side as well, i think coleman would have thought about all of this

@starlionblue You could modify it if you wanted to. It seems as though Colman pop-ups have not changed the design much at all since the 80′s. They just add a few new features like a poorly designed storage locker. Colman pop-ups are way overpriced. It will still rot after a few years, the lift system will break and good luck with that lifetime warranty. I bet the warranty has loopholes in it for Colman to screw ya with.

It already has a design flaw. The support arm for the storage locker should be on the side. It’ll make it tough to get long items inside. I don’t get it. Was it that hard to put a hydraulic strut instead.

I just bought the 09 Utah – absolutely love it !
