I want to say they have to stay in the right lane and go 55 but can use the left to pass but if you cant do 65 or dont feel safe doing it stay in the right lane. go to google and but in CVC that will give you all the vehicle codes and tell you for sure

On three lane interstates, trucks (including motor homes) can use the right two lanes. On two lane interstates, trucks can use both lanes. On greater than three lane interstates, the regulations vary.

One of the nice things about using an RV is being able to sit in the fast lane and only do about 15 mph. You can really piss people off while driving one of those road slugs, and that’s half the fun. Some states, like Washington, ask that you pull over to allow cars to pass if you have 5 or more cars stacked up behind you, but I don’t know that its a law.
