CAN POP UP BE SET UP ON BLOCKS FOR PERMANENT LOCATION. TIRES OFF SO CAN’T BE MOVED?

Want to set up a pop up camper at land in N Carolina and leave it there in a semi-permanent location. Would leave it closed and just open it when we are there. Plan to take off the tires so it can’t be taken away. Thought of putting it up on cement blocks but am not sure how to protect the wheels and axel from damage if we do that. Anyone else tried this or have any ideas?

  1. Froggie says:

The best way to avoid damage would be to cut some sturdy lumber supports from 4 x 4′s in a notch for the axles between the concrete and the metal. Wood is soft enough to cushion the metal.
Enterprising thieves could still tow the pop-up unless the wheels were stored (indoors) in a separate location – buy a trailer hitch lock. It’s worth the small extra money for ‘insurance’. Or use a heavy chain and safety lock for the trailer to a nearby tree.
