planing a road trip and we just bought a used rv I dont have much experiance with rvs but have little boy that cant hold it very long and would like to be able to use toilet in rv. Dont whant it to freeze so looking for a way to do this. without hooking up a lot of heating pads for the pipes and tanks

well does ur rv work on propane in addition to electricity??? if so just turn on the heater and go on ur trip…
but yes u can use rv antifreeze but will run through quite a bit…..
There is a antifreeze that you use in the RV’s water system
and you can use automotive antifreeze in the holding system.
I would think you could mix water with it, but you should read the directions on the container. I’m sure if you can, it will reduce the protection. This link didn’t say you could, but it may be helpful.

well never thought about it but you cannot mix the antifreeze in your freshwater holding tank, and at 50/50 mix at 10 bucks a gallon it would cost you 5 bucks a flush. I think you need to insulate all your pipes real good, (some newer nicer rvs no longer leave exposed pipes anymore. But its far cheaper, and way less poisenous to to buy that electric pipe warmer thing, and some insulation, also protect that section by keeping the wind from blasting underneath. If you are not going anywhere for a while, put skirting all around the trailer and keep the wind out.
