Living in my RV

www.livinginmycar.com TRANSCRIPT: All right, here I am at the NuRVers Rally and I just cleaned my motorhome, so it is a rare opportunity to get a look at what it looks like. Because we had a Parade of Homes, looking at everybody’s RVs. And we had a swapmeet. And I got that bike, from Tao of Long. So, here’s my RV. And there is my little peace lily. I hung these curtains — oh, I’d better turn the AC off so you can hear me — I hung these curtains to block off the cab so that it feels more like a house when I am in here. And then also when I am driving, I can turn on the AC and only cool the cab. And here is my bed, where I sleep on the bunk. And since this is longer than a real bed. I added these little storage containers, but they are actually empty. I don’t need as much storage as I thought I do. TV. Haven’t really used, but I’m sure I will. Dinette, where I work. We have a, uh, potluck. That’s what I’m bringing, but I didn’t bake it. I bought it. Apple cinnamon pie. My little corkboard that keeps falling off. There’s my stepper. I’ve used it twice. It is actually pretty good. Here’s my little galley. That’s my little dish drainer, since I don’t have one. My little Buddha on the floor. I have a lot of empty storage in here. There’s the bathroom. And I’m gong to move the mirror because I don’t want to be on the video. So, here’s the bathroom. And I use my shower for my laundry storage. Or my laundry detergent storage. So this is really enough room for one person. I have

You are the only other younger woman besides myself I have ever seen doing the full time RV living alone. Good for you! I am now married with kids. That was part of the deal. You want to be with me…you gotta live in an RV!!!! :P

This is my ultimate dream. I’d rather travel with a partner though because I’m afraid of having problems on the road & my anxiety issues getting the best of me. By the way, (random comment) you have a very soothing voice. I enjoyed the commentary as much as the tour. :)

I’ve always liked trailers but I am a lazy duster and scrubber, egad you have to stay on the housework in these little places. In the past I just hired cleaners, honest work for them and I had kind of an excuse for being a slob. I live in France and it is not an RV-friendly country but I’ve scoped out some camping and parking options. I am no expert and live in an apt but if anyone wants to contact me, I can try to direct ‘em. Uprated.

@xfiles1011 – I agree the RV Parks can cost as much as a small apartment. Here are the advantages that I can see; you have the accomodations YOU want, don’t need to worry if landlord will correctly repair any maintenance problems, if you have screwy neighbors one of two solutions, 1) they will be moving in a few days or 2) you can move in short order ( unlike regular apartments you are tied to a 1 yr lease and if you break it, it costs you sometimes 75% of the unpaid balance..

how much is that RV worth?

Nice rv, How often do you have to start the engine and drive the rv? I know it’s not good for them to sit for long periods of time.

My TV is 17-19 inches? I don’t know. Gas varies from nothing when I am staying put, to $1,000 when I am driving across the continent…

  18. JenniferBlogAccount says:

Yes, it is on the Mercedes Benz chassis, but mine is the rarer 2.7L 5-cyl diesel. They were only on the 2006 model year (2005 chassis). All rvs went to the 6 cyl after that. I get about 15-17 mpg. It is considered a class C because of the overhead bunk.

  19. 1001kp says:

So this is a class b? Is it on a mercedez-Benz chassis?

  20. xMrH2OBoyx says:

@LatinFunkJazz – According to her blog and the ‘specs’ she included, it’s 24ft long…

  21. xMrH2OBoyx says:

@The49265 – I’m assuming you’re trying to be funny w/that comment…as “American Coach” is one of the more upscale, premiere MH’s in the industry…and I fail to see how even at the smallest length (42ft) and price ($425K), those coaches are NOT “Live in Kind”…

  22. LatinFunkJazz says:

    how big is your tv?

  23. Fatkidsaliva says:

Hi i’m curious how much do you spend on gas a month?

Would be interested to know how the rapid increase in fuel costs has affected the RV community and what folks are doing to try and cope.
