My friends RV has a 30 Amp plug, if I attach a 15 amp adapter to it will he be able to run the AC?

I want my friend to be able to sleep in his RV connected to my home and be able to run his Air Conditioner. Will it be under powered ? Are there any other solutions?

It depends on how many amps the AC needs. The 30 amp plug means that his RV can use up to 30 amps. If everything in his RV is turned on at the same time it could use up to 30 amps.

Hooking the power to a 15 amp adaptor and trying to run the A/C is likely to over heat the adaptor and could cause a fire. If you intend to run the air cond. you really really need to have the properly rated adaptor or have the electrical system wired directly into a 30 amp breaker. They sell the adapter at Wal-Mart. Otherwise have a licensed electrican wire it in. Be careful!
