What irs tax forms do i need to fill out to take deductions for an rv that I use in constructions work travels

I receive a W-2 that does not show per diem. My tax home is my home I own in Illinois, but I may work in any state during the tax year and may be layed off for weeks or months during that year. Can I depreciate the rv even though I purchased it in 2006 when I began my construction travels? Can I deduct my rv lot rent while I am working away from home? Can I deduct mileage for travel back and forth from my tax home. I do not deduct gas expenses to and from the job site.

The problem with travel expenses is you have to show receipts for lodging. The fact that you bring your RV with you pretty much leaves you with receipts from the campground where you parked the RV. (And if you park it in a walmart parking lot for free, you get nothing.) The RV is really a personal item, so you can’t deduct the lot fee for where you store it when you aren’t traveling.

Mileage is okay, as long as each work assignment is less than a year. Food is okay, but you say you already get per diem for that.
