Why do so many RV companies use big 3 passenger car head-light and tail-light assemblies?

So many class-A RV’s use light assemblies from various big 3 passenger car and truck models. Is DOT certification that expensive or something? Do they always match the manufacturer of the chassis?

I’m completely guessing but I always believed that RV’s used the chassis and parts from the big 3 commercial lines. So using their lights would make sense.

    like the 1st guy said.
plus, making your own lights is pointless if you already have them. I mean, nobody really buys RV’s for their appearance. And those that do, would have the money to make custom lights for them if they wanted.
