Why are camp jobs allowed to pay under minimum wage? Is that money taxed?
Posted by: | CommentsI am being offered $1,800 to work as Group Leader at a camp for 8 weeks from 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Minimum wage in New York is $7.15. Which would mean for this amount of time my pay should be over $2,000. Why are camps allowed to pay so low? After i got the 1,800 would it still be taxed?
Does this sound like a fair deal to you?

Should Israeli spies without visas be allowed to build military camps in NYS?
Posted by: | CommentsThe suspicious activities of young Israeli men and women who aggressively push Israeli cosmetic products at mall kiosks around the United States is not only tied to gathering intelligence from nearby military and government facilities but also to recruit American Jews for specialized “counter-terrorism” training at a militant Jewish training camp in the Catskills in upstate New York.

I appreciate everyone’s answers, but I don’t see anyone addressing the issue of the free market…
“The judiciary isn’t part of the free market.”
Shouldn’t it be?

Girl Scouts is not just for little girls no wimps allowed
For most people, when they picture a Girl Scout, they see a cute Daisy Scout or a sweet Brownie Scout or a confident Junior Scout. The members of Girl Scouts Troop #1156 work very hard challenging all those stereotypes.

Campsites in WA where dogs are allowed on trails?
Posted by: | CommentsI have been searching for some campsites in Washington where my husband and I can take our dogs. Let me specify, we don’t want to just take our dogs but include them in the camping fun! Our last camping experience, the ranger said the park was dog friendly but they wouldn’t allow the dogs on hiking trails and we couldn’t leave them unattended either and threatened to fine us if we were caught. Instead they suggested taking our dogs on the road, which I felt was MUCH more dangerous. The ranger’s excuse for not allowing dogs on trails is that dogs are more harmful to nature than humans…Well I don’t know about you, but my dogs don’t drive 6 wheel motor homes into the wilderness. Anyone know of any campsites in WA that WILL allow dogs on trails?

Capitol on lockdown as no further protesters are allowed in
MADISON – Confusion persists at the Capitol, where officials are still refusing to open the doors and allow protesters inside the building. As of 2:45 p.m., the Capitol remained on lockdown, with only employees, officers and members of the media allowed inside. They are joined by the dozens of protesters who spent the night inside the rotunda, despite efforts to push them out the door.
