Anderson Mesa, Camping in Arizona Picture Tour

Southeast of Flagstaff, Arizona. Anderson Mesa is a mix of pine forest, meadows, and lakes at around 7000 feet. It’s a wonderful place to camp and there are several primitive roads to explore that aren’t on a Forest Service map. The Arizona Trail, which spans the entire state from Mexico to Utah, can be accessed here. There are also many lakes to see including Upper & Lower Lake Mary, Ashurst Lake, and Mormon Lake (the largest natural lake in Arizona, when full). Keep an eye on the sky during monsoon season (July & August) as the dirt roads can turn into a muddy mess very quickly. There are plenty of spots for RV boondocking including 3 camping areas along the road to Ashurst Lake. It’s free RV camping, with a limit of 14 days (the usual case on public land). New York or Arizona?
Posted by: | CommentsOk, I’m writing a book right now and wish to know where I should set up camp when I am finished and ready to try and publish it. I have almost all my family and friends here in Arizona that can offer me support when trying to sell and promote my book but on the flip side, I hate it here and want to go to somewhere like New York. Not only that but, I heard that’s the place you want to go now if you are artistically inclined. But I know no one in New York and almost 200 people here in Arizona know I’m writing a novel. But seriously, what does Arizona have on New York when it comes to publishing?
I want to go camping with my family but I am not familiar with any places in san diego or somewhere near by the colorado river in arizona that i can go camping. I’m looking for a place that’s fun,hiking, tents and/or cabin facilities, somewhere where they have rivers or some kind of water. Can someone recommend some really nice place to go camping ?

Where is a great secluded place for camping in Arizona?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m trying to find a place in the mountains to get away from the summer heat, to be near a lake or river so I can fish (preferably have the fishing area right by or in my campsite), and where I would hardly see any other people?
Somewhere in the White mountains or near the Mogollon Rim would be ideal.
