Why are camp jobs allowed to pay under minimum wage? Is that money taxed?
Posted by: | CommentsI am being offered $1,800 to work as Group Leader at a camp for 8 weeks from 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Minimum wage in New York is $7.15. Which would mean for this amount of time my pay should be over $2,000. Why are camps allowed to pay so low? After i got the 1,800 would it still be taxed?
Does this sound like a fair deal to you?

I remember reading the story in a Chicken Soup from the Soul book, and then later seeing the elderly couple on Oprah. The husband was in a concentration camp as a boy, and the wife was a little girl on the outside who secretly brought him apples every day. Years later in New York, they were set up on a blind date and discovered that they were the same little boy and girl from back in the Nazi days.

Posted by: | CommentsI am 14 and I’ve never been to a camp before. My friends go to Camp Gorham, but it’s like $700! And my parents already said they aren’t going to pay that much. I live in New York, so maybe a camp in the Adirondaks? But like I said before not an expensive one my price range is like $150- 350. Preferibly one on a lake!

I live in upstate NY and I want to stay at a tent site that has a view of the ocean, or even a site on the beach if thats possible. I’m just going for the weekend and was really hoping to find something in Cape Cod.
Ways to raise money for summer camp?
Posted by: | CommentsI`m going to a summer camp in Colorado (Young life) in early June and It cost around 450 dollars which my family doesn’t just have laying around..SO I need some help finding good reasonable fund raising ideas for a 14yr old girl. I cant get a job!

How can I be an extra in Camp Rock 2?

I just started my acting career (it’s more of a hobby) and am trying to be casted as an extra for films. If anyone has information on how I should go about doing this, please let me know! Summer Camp?
Posted by: | CommentsSo, I’m 12 years old, and this is the summer before 7th grade. I really really want to go to camp. I’ve been wanting to for awhile now. At the moment it is June 23rd, and do you recommend any really cheap camps? I am interested in a coed camp not too far from New York, like in NY or Pennsylvania or something like that. Do you know of any cheap camps still accepting campers? It would be my first summer at a sleep-away camp. That’s my main question.
My next question is: do you think I am too old for starting out at a new summer camp this summer or next summer?
PLEASE HELP ME OUT! Because soon almost all the camps will be full and not accepting new admissions.
