Archive for campgrounds

Hi, we want to camp and head to the dunes this summer. Anything within an hour driving would be nice. If anyone has some good ideas of campgrounds in the area, we would appreciate it.
Thanks

Can anyone give me suggestions and opinions on any great wooded/rustic campgrounds in Lower Michigan (west side of the state near Grand Rapids or Lansing) I’m looking for something rustic with wooded campsites, not in the middle of the woods, but not on a public beach with overcrowded campsites. Someplace on a lake, or a close walk/hike to a lake. We have 2 very small children so a little runoff of a lake would be very nice, something not so deep for the kids to play in – not necessary but would be a great +. We want someplace where we can take walks in trails, swim, sit around a campfire and enjoy the peace. Also, small private sandy shores would be great…although I don’t want to expect too much. Rustic though, no golf courses or big pools… c’mon, that’s not camping.

It doesn’t have to have a huge playground either but a small one would be helpful, again…not necessary. Please give your opinions on places you’ve stayed, or places you’ve heard of. THANKS!

Where are any campgrounds in Michigan?

Posted by: | Comments (3)

Ok, the title got your attention because I know there are TONS of campgrounds in Michigan. I’m 18 and my boyfriend is 20. We want to go camping this summer but every campground I come across states that you must be 21 to rent a site out. I was wondering if anyone knew of ANY campgrounds in Michigan that you could be at least 18 years of age to rent a site. If anybody does, that would be very helpful if you could list them.

I mean, I can go to war but i cant rent a freakin campsite for the weekend with my boyfriend?!

anyways if anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated, PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

Campgrounds in Michigan?

Posted by: | Comments (3)

Me and my boyfriend are looking for a campground in south western michigan. The thing is we dont want an RVcamp, we want the old fashion kind of camping. You know, the ones were you sent out a tent, cook over campfire, surrounded by wilderness with noone else around you, lakes for fishing, and all that fun stuff. Yet I still want there to be a bathroom and shower near by. Is there ANYTHING in south west michigan like that? Anything will be helpful, thanks

A couple of my friends and I would like to go camping together for Spring Break this year. We live in New York City, and we’re not looking to drive for longer than three to four hours. We are looking the most secluded territory possible, preferably with a river or a lake nearby. Also, if possible, can anyone suggest what we need to bring with us for a four to five night stay, including food, types of supplies, etc. Thanks.

I was planning on getting a space for my RV in Disney’s Fort Wilderness in Orlando for New Years, but they’ve been booked all month since about 9 months ago. Thanks to that, I’m going to need a place to camp with my RV, preferably private, or at least somewhere safe and with a good reputation. I also need to know of a place that’s fairly close to Disney/Magic Kingdom (5-10 minutes). Thanks Yahoo, and please answer soon!

I’m looking for some good spots to tent camp in New York State…

I am REALLY sick and tired of the “outdoor hotels” that I have been to in the past, where there are loud families right up next to you with boom boxes and cell phones blaring. I like the idea of bathroom facilites, and a fire pit, but jeez, I don’t need organized volleyball games and a heated pool! I’m talking PRIMITIVE camping…(I know the Adirondacks are great, but where in the Adirondacks?? I don’t want anyplace with a pool or family activities! I don’t want to be able to hear anything except the wind through the trees!) I’m desperate, as many camping websites say “secluded”, but it’s never true!! (the last one said that, and the site next to ours had a fire pit literally FOUR FEET AWAY from ours…I was really bummed.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

PS. My camping friends and I are VERY respectful of nature, and never litter, always keeping the place looking exactly how we found it. (so if you have a favorite remote spot, we’ll never be the ones to ruin it!)
