Archive for Child
My son is currently in school, and turns 18 and a few weeks. He then goes to boot camp shortly after that, so obviously not in school. How does all of this affect the child support that I pay?
The order says that child support goes to 21 if he is full time in school. Military obligations can change that, but the Oregon Guard is a bit different, in that he is not full time military.
how can missing child posters make the abductors panicked and doing something awful?
Posted by: | Commentsa child that was missing on Monday on his way from summer camp to his home (8 years old) in New York, was abducted or lured by a man. He killed him the following day, and, bitched his body.
then he put half of his limbs to the fridge, HALF was damped 2 miles away in trash can.
he was captured early Wednesday. He said he panicked when he saw posters, and that is why he did what he did.
That is so awful. The wake held yesterday night drew tens of thousand people.
The tape clearly show’s guards beating and kicking a 14 year old black child in a Boot Camp” correctional setting” in Florida who is then dragged around the compound like a animal, while other guards and a nurse walk around watching this incident with approval. The child was being assaulted by several of the guards who slam him to the ground, kick him, punch him and bend his arms behind his back with such force, he is screaming in pain crying out for help. How can any person in such a care and control capacity be found innocent of causing the needless death after watching the film of this incident? I have not seen anything along these lines since I was stationed in Germany and visited the former Nazi concentration camp Dachau, where it show’s actual footage of the camp confiscated from the Nazi SS during it’s duration in a Movie Theater when you first enter, as it is a museum. The Nazi’s were kicking and punching victim’s, much the same way this 14 year old black child was assaulted!

Should i still have to pay child support?
Posted by: | CommentsThere is no right or wrong answer here. I’m just looking for common sense responses. This child (woman) is now 19 yrs old. She graduated high school in may 2008. According to Missouri law she is required to advise of her intent of schooling. By no later than Oct following high school graduation she was supposed to send an official transcript and i never received anything. In March 2009 i find out she is attending college and her GPA is 1.16. All during this time she was not working and had the time to achieve academic performance and failed to do so. In addition she has only signed up for tech school classes that only take one semester and failed that. She attended summer 2008 and fall 2008 and could not pass the classes. Now she has gone to another school program (spring 2009)and again it is for a tech class. She has not taken one single class toward obtaining a degree from a college (classes that are of required not elective). We advised the child support agency and had to get an attorney and go to court but the mother has the child support agency on her side and we could not get the support stopped. Actually the law says if the child does not provide the paper work such as an official transcript the child support can end, but it didn’t. Why does this law exist if the courts won’t support it? Also she refuses to work, and ended her association with the air force (was to go to boot camp in Oct 2009. I do believe this is just a way to stay home and not have to work, live with her mom and have free money ($500.00 per month child support).
All of the child support if up to date as of dec 2008. The law in Missouri says if the child goes to continuing school you have to pay-but don’t they have to pass these classes and make an attempt to become part of the working society.
What are my chances of getting child support increased?
Posted by: | CommentsI live in Alabama. My ex-husband works for himself and is notoriously difficult when it comes to providing information about his income. He claims his income has decreased somewhat, mine has increased slightly. However, with skyrocketing gas and grocery prices, I’m having trouble making ends met – plus summertime is here which means summer day camp $$$$ for school age kids. In 5 years, I have not asked for an increase.
Also, he only sees the kids approximately 8 hours a month (they stay with his mother during his scheduled weekends – he visits them there). He has also developed a drug habit (came to a birthday party out of his gourd in front of everyone last year). Would I be more successful at having the support increased if I tried to get full custody instead of joint? As it is, it’s joint in name only anyway.
All advice is appreciated.
I should add that he still makes more money than I do.
If an employee abuses a child, is there some agency to report that to? In New York?
Posted by: | CommentsIn New York – If an employee of a summer camp sexually abused a young child, and he takes a guilty plea, does that get reported to some sort of agency so that he is never allowed to work near children again?
Note: He might plead to a non-registerable offense.
Note: He might plead to a non-registerable crime.
Can a father to stop child support payment if he can prove the following situations…?
Posted by: | CommentsIf a father has to pay $400.00 a month in child support or risk being put into jail or not being able to see his children( and has trouble seeing them anyways, because of transportation problems, and the mother will not take the children to seem him or try to meet him half way) Can anything be changed? Supposedly one child is 20 and in college and the other is 18, and will be a senior in High School. They both work. One lives with the grandparents(mom’s parents) and the other one,who I thought lived with grandparents also, supposedly still sleeps the mom’s house, but spends a lot of time at the grandparents. My friend thinks the $400 is not being spent correctly. Its understandable that a lot of kids want a job to be able to buy some items and save up for college, but my friend mentioned that he thinks that his ex is using for the wrong things, like getting tatoos, too by drinks, and support children that are not his. She is married to one one man and have two biolgical children by him. There is also a middle child by another man. So this means that she has 5 children by 3 different men. 2 from a divorce. The 3rd by some man, while she cheated on her first husband. And then gets married to another man. Also the ages of the 1st 4 children are 20-16, and supposedly the 2 oldest daughters or sharing a car, but the oldest one (my friends biological child) had to pay her mothers car insurance if she wanted to use the car, and it was high because her mother has had a lot of DIUs. Could there also be a possiblity of parent alienation syndrome. I understand some children might be closer to one parent then the other, but my friend thinks that the mother is telling the children stuff that will want them to avoid him. And one more thing about the money. He is trying to live off unemployment and non-tax jobs, that have not been paying him correctly. I have offered to help out a little bit, but can only do so much. So, if he can prove that she is causing parent alienation, and that she is not using the money for the children(really his, not the other 3) can something be done? This is in Alabama. He lives in Birmingham, they live 2 hours away. If the kids had cars to see their father, could they come see them, and then he would be somewhat taking care of them, and not have to pay child support. Also, does Alabama have a law where a parent can give child support for school and camp activities, so they know where it is going, and knows it will go for a good cause, and not to somebody who might not use it, for what its purpose is.
ok, first of all I am only asking from what my friend has told me. I am actually his room mate. Supposedly he has to pay some back child support, that he was not able to pay. He told me that in some cases you do have to pay if the child is in college. However, because the legal documents that he and his ex signed did not say anything about paying for college expenses he does not have too. I think if he is paying anything for the $20 year old that it is because he was late on payments before hand. I am not sure exactly, but I think in the state of Alabama it is when the child turns 18 or when they graduate High School, so that might not be until they are 19, depending on when their birthday falls. Even when the youngest one does graduate which will be next may (she will turn 19 in dec of 2010). He will still have to probably pay child support, until he is caught up on everything. Supposedly he was not having to pay child support, but when his son came to visit him over christmas,
a few months later a sharif comes by with papers about paying child support. My friend goes to court about it, and they claim that he has a lot of money. However it is because of a bucket of money that his son saw in his apartment and thought it was his dads. That money was actually from me, to give to his daughter for her birthday, but it got stolen from somebody. and her dad already paid me back for it. so he does not have as much as people think he has
My husband’s ex-wife has been giving him a hard time about not having given her a check yet for their son’s flag football. My husband pays her the court ordered $800/month child support for their kids religiously. We also have the kids every other weekend and he does all of the driving. We live two and a half hours away (his ex moved when she remarried) and he drives two and a half hours to pick the kids up and bring them back, and then does the drive again two days later. We obviously pay for them when we have them as well.
He’s always given her extra money for their extra-curricular things, however it’s not court mandated and she sticks to everything that was decreed in the divorce. She’s absolutely inflexible when it comes to anything. (For example she wouldn’t even let us have the for 4 days instead of two to take them camping with us this summer) She always says “I only have to do what the courts say.”
However, she’s lately been sending rude emails about the money for football. He’s assistant coach on the weekends he takes their kids back. She sent an email saying that he hasn’t given her a dime for the football and she’s going to let the coach know “to see what he thinks about that”. He said he has his checkbook but forgot and she replies “Tell me again how it’s my responsibility to remind you of your responsibilities?”
How would you respond to her emails? Money is tight, we intend to pay though, he just forgot. But how can she be so rude and demanding when it’s an extra thing and not court ordered. She’s remarried and her husband makes a 6 figure income. My husband is on disability and is presently unemployed.
I’m tired of her acting like he doesn’t support the kids at all (her words) and tells everyone that when he has the $800 a month automatically taken out of our account every month when he gets his check.
