My sister and I recently camp up here to go on a camping expadition after my mother died and we are a little short on some of the things that we need, we didn’t realize that so much stuff was required to survive and we desperatly need a helping hand. I am 22 and she is 18 and we were left with basically nothing so we have made a list and someone suggested I post it here on Criagslist to see if anyone in the area might be able to help. We would greatly appricate the help, it doesn’t matter that the items are used as long as they are still in useable shape. So here is the list we have come up with:
*camping stove and mini fuel tanks
*hiking backpack
*extra blankets
*2 pair black sweatpants (size XL)
*wool socks, snow caps and gloves
*D and AA cell batteries
*a pot/pan to cook on
*any food items we could boil and cook in water anything that might be good for that food wise would be a big help
*long john shirts and pants (both XL)
*femine hygine products (i.e. Tampons)
*hand pump for air matteress
*walkie talkies so we can stasy in touch if seperated since we’ve have discovered its fairly easy to get lost out here
*2 pair of womans shoes both size 8.5 maybe something good for snow and walking, ours have holes
*a small first aid kit as I have already hurt myself on accident once since we arrived.

If you can help us with any of these items it would be a great help becasue we were left with pretty much nothing. We came up here and spent the little money we had on Ramen noodle, a small tent, one sleeping bag and a light and a gallon for water, but that is basically about it aside from the little shirts we came with. So abny help would be greatly appricated. We also can do small odd jobs to earn money until we find a more permanent job out here, because we have learned very quickly a little monwey goes a long way. We have been here for 5 days now, and it gets fairly cold at night so anything will help. Feel free to email me and leave a phone number if you can he4lp and I will call you with my calling card since I no longer have a working cell phone. Thank you so much again.

I live in Rensselaer County, New York and the only salamaders I can seem to find are Red-back Salamanders which are very common here. I have found other salamanders such as two-lined salamanders and possibly a spotted or tiger salamader larva. I see websites that tell me there are multiple other salamanders residing here, but I have no luck finding them. For example, at http://nyfalls.com/wildlife/Wildlife-reptiles-salamanders.html it shows that Jefferson, Four-toed, and Red salamanders and red spotted newts live in my county. I have no problem finding these salamanders and others in the Adirondacks at my camp, but it also shows their distribution in my county so why can’t I find them here?

Also, I know that one reason I might not be able to find some of the mole salamanders that live here is because they burrow 2 feet in the ground, but how could I spot these holes or burrows?

I was most amazed when I saw that Red-spotted newts apparently reside where I live. These are very common at my camp in the Adirondacks, but I have never foiund one here. Where should I look and when? I looked in the same places as at my camp with no luck.

By the way, the road I live on is on a hill, my house is just on the edge of this hill, to get to where I search, I walk down this 30-40 foot hill at the end of my yard and there are red-backs about under logs right at the bottom. If I walk another 100 feet, I get to a creek that is up to 4 feet deep in places. There is also a few marshes and ponds within 100 feet. I find red-backs down here under logs, two-lined salamanders under rocks on the shore of the creek and either spotted or tiger salamander larvae in a pond that formed from when the creek flooded. There is tree coverage down here and not much light. Where should I look and when to find the salamanders and newts that are supposed to live here?

4.25 acres in Roscoe, New York…

Small vacant land in mountain area, but walk to shopping and close to highway…

We had this land for years and price went up a little bit…we use it for camping and stuff…

Should I keep it since market is so bad now…but I was thinking to sell the land and buy a rental property where I live…

Do you think the land will be valuable in the future? like 5-10 years later?
