Legality of breaks on 10 hour work days?

Posted by: | Comments (1)

I work as a day camp counselor for the YMCA in Washington state. I work 10 hour days during which I watch kids the entire time including eating lunch with them. All of the counselors work 40 hour weeks. We are only offered 30 minute breaks if we ask for them, which no one does. Is this legal?
The 30 minute breaks are also unpaid.

Help!?!?! Only 13 days!!!!?

Posted by: | Comments (1)

I kind of left it to the last minute but… I’m going to mexico in 13 days and I have a problem: My pants are about half a size too small. How can I fit into them and lose a little weight in this time frame?!

I’m at camp, which is 40 minutes workout (laps, pushups etc..) and I dance for about an hour or so. I have weights but no access to cardio equipment, only on Wednesdays! Help!

What area to stay in Barcelona? for 4 days?
Going to Barcelona for 4 days, read a lot of good and bad things on the internet about locations to stay in. I have heard about pick pockets but I lived in New York for 8 years so if that makes a difference…

What I want to do and see

I want to be able to photography the Gothic quarter and old town. I want to be able to go to Mar bella beach. I want to stay somewhere that isnt a commute to everywhere and has food and entertainment around.

There are two hotels in eixample that do that but then I imagine I would have to take the metro to the beach…. does not sound so thrilling.

There are two hotels on diagonal one by glories metro and one my poblenou metro. The nicest hotel for price is the ME by poblenou in my opinion, though the neighborhood is lacking from what I have heard but the beach is 17 mins walk. The other is right by glories which means no metro change to gothic quarter but about 25 mins walk from the beach…

So far I am at a deadlock of which hotel to book.

I am also traveling with a Japanese friend and while I would personally have no issues, it says on the state department that asian people are usually the highest rate of tourist crime, mostly because its obvious they are a tourist.

Ive also read how to guides on how to dress in Barcelona in order to not get robbed. I have never heard of such a thing, I really hope this is some scaremongering instead of reality. I live near fukushima, what could be scarier.

I digress, but I think you get the point! I have no idea how to navigate this city and I want to make the most out of the 4 days. I dont plan to spend all day at the beach but an hour or two of sun would be nice. Taking taxis is an option so if taking a taxi from the area near poblenou Metro would be a safer option that staying in the city center, that is what i most need to consider as there is virtually nothing posted about that area…

So hopefully someone has some information and please do not highly focus on the pickpocketing problem, more or less I want to know which area is better suited for the trip as also taking taxi everywhere is not my preference….

Film Festivals that Thrive in the Dog Days of Summer; A Preview of July & August Events The height of Summer (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere) is sometimes considered a lighter period of the year in terms of the general festival circuit, a relative “calm before the storm,” ahead of the major late-Summer/early Fall events in Venice, Telluride and Toronto. But July and August are nevertheless teaming with festivals in North America and around the world, including gay … Read more on indieWIRE

We are going camping for 3 days at a campground only 20 minutes away, I have to pet rats. My moms afriad that they will stink up the trailor but if I sat them on the picnic table under the canopy during the day and bring them in at night they should be ok. We have plenty of room in the trailor for the cage. Should we bring them or leave them at home?

Entry from: Airlie Beach, Australia Entry Title: “Lazy days” Entry: “A few days’ blogging combined to cover my time in Airlie Beach, the gateway to the Whitsunday islands. Sunday, November 22nd I took the Greyhound from Townsville mid-morning. During the journey, I managed to spot two kangaroos taking shade from the sun under a tree. My first sighting of this breed whilst over here. Arriving into Airlie Beach just after 15:00, I made my way to my hotel for the next 3 nights. The hotel is great, with a top pool. My room has a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer — but more importantly has a balcony, a giant spa bath and all three channels of Fox Sports (I will be able to watch the Bolton vs Blackburn game). The room is probably better appointed than my place back home! I dumped my bags and headed out for Cannonvale, home to the nearest supermarket at the Whitsunday Shopping Centre to stock up on provisions for the next few days. The hour walk to Cannonvale crisscrossed the coast and took me through Abel Point marina. Once at Coles’ supermarket at the shopping centre, I managed to procure some Red Bull to assist in keeping me awake to watch the Bolton game… Monday, November 23rd In between sleep and general disillusion (which wasn’t due to the Red Bull), I managed to catch about 30 minutes of
