Deck Stain – Lap Lines – Help!?

Posted by: | Comments (2)

First time staining a deck today and we have some lap lines. We now know the mistakes we made and how to do it right next time, but is there anything we can do to get rid of the lap lines? We have one “square” in particular that looks bad. Would restaining the areas that don’t look bad make it better?

I really don’t want to sand and restain. So if that’s the only option, I’ll be strategically placing our patio furniture, lol!
We used a semi-transparent, oil-based ceder color stain.

We recently had a redwood deck with roof built in our back yard and bought a patio furniture set (10 piece) made with Steel Gray Aluminum Frame with Powder-Coated Finish on the legs and frame. The problem is when we set the patio furniture and people sat on it, we noticed marks and indentions from the legs of the furniture. What can we use to prevent our deck from the damage, especially from the weight when people sit? My husband wants to put tennis balls on each legs but I think that would look tacky and take away the beauty from our redwood deck and furniture…help please!!!!!

We live in a condo and the dog above us pees out on their patio which in turn pours down onto us, our deck, and our patio furniture. We’ve asked them nicely 3 times and it hasn’t stopped. We even hear them telling the dog to “go potty” outside. The most recent time I talked to them they pretty much told me they arent going to do anything about it. I’ve suggested they try potty pads or not being lazy and walking their dog outside. HOA said all they can do is send a warning since they are the owners of the condo. Is there anything else we can do?

Patio door in bathroom out to deck?

Posted by: | Comments (1)

i wanted to put a smaller size patio door into the bathroom on the second floor leading to a large deck in the backyard. Is this odd or has anyone ever seen or heard of this being done? the bathroom is attached to the master bedroom. We just thought it would be nice for people to go from the deck/pool with out having to walk through the entire house. I just need opinions and advice. I would put it in the master bedroom, but then there would not be enough room for furniture.

What should I do with my deck?

I have a deck on the bottom with patio furniture. It has 2 wicker chairs and a couch. They are very comfortable. What could with it. It is like another room. It is partially covered on the top of my top deck.

I have many spider webs on my deck with sacks in a straight line going down the middle. Anyone know what this type of spider web could be? I never see actual spiders just the “sacks” in a straight line down the middle. They are on my patio furniture as well.
