What is your definition of racism?

The taking of an indigenous peoples land and regulating them to reservations.
The enslavement of of a race of people for centuries.
The lynching of innocent men women and children while the whole town watched in amusement.
The treatment of people as 3rd class citizens or even sub-human for generations.
The confinement and killing of millions in concentration camps.
The bombing of a church that killed 4 little girls in Alabama.
The Emmitt Till verdict
The Rodney King verdict
The Sean Bell verdict
Etc.
Racism is not:
Saying “Typical white woman”
Saying ” God, Damn America”
Saying “U.S. of KKK”
Saying “Insert anything SAID by Louis Farrakhan here.”
Saying ” For the first time in my adult life I’m proud of my country.”
Saying “Hillary Clinton doesn’t know what it’s like to be called a *******.”
Affirmative action
The O.J. verdict (which was still a bad decision. I can’t argue that.)
I’ll admit this is just my opinion. I’m asking to find out what may be others definitions of this word because to me a few people are throwing this word around like they really don’t understand the true EVIL and HATRED that is behind it…….but then again if someone has never experienced it in it’s TRUE FORM, I guess I can’t fault them for it.
I’m putting this question here to break the monotony of all he crazy questions I’ve read today.
So, what is your HONEST definition as/if it relates to you?

I used examples for natives indians and people of jewish faith also. Not just “my people”.
I’m just saying to me (again TO ME.)that racism is an action. An act to terrorize or harm another because of a feeling of superiority. To others it may well be just words that hurt your feelings like asdfjkl has said but thats his/her opinion and I can respect that.

which is the group of people that has slaughtered/murdered innocent civilians life the most in history for their personal beliefs/agenda/motive is it the; Islamic community or Israeli or American or Germans or what? Its hard to call because the media doesn’t give as the actual number of casualties,esp. civilians. Help me out on this one. my ex just wrote a nasty blog about me on his myspace saying im a spoiled little brat and a snob. his reasons are that i over dress (i wear heels every day but i wear jeans and a cute shirt not a prom dress) but he wears sweatpants every day so i guess jeans and heels is fancy to him. i would rather go to a wine tasting or out to dinner then go to a keg party… and yes my parents own a large house but my dad came from nothing and busted his ass to get to where he is. i have worked since i was 16 and paid my own bills and not relied on daddys money. the only thing i dont pay is my cell phone bill and my car insurance but thats only because im paying my college tuition and have to save for my masters degree (which i got a partial scholarship for)… im sorry but i dont see how im a snob.
and plus if i was a snob wouldnt i have NOT gone out with him? if i was a snob id have turned my nose up at him and not given him my number but no i went out with him and went camping in the boonies of Maine with him.. how many snobs will pee in the woods? honestly

my favorite part of his blog is about how im a money grubbing whore who rubs her college degree peoples faces… im working 3 jobs to pay for my education and im a social worker… i make jack shiit as far as pay goes… how am i money grubbing when i work in public service and starting salary with a BSW is $17 an hour and my tuition is $4,685 a semester..and thats BEFORE i buy my books
he went to a tech school so he wouldnt need college but that was HIS choice.. why put me down because i want a masters?

HOA Covenants clarification – definition of “passersby”?

“There shall be no recreational vehicles, trailers, boats or boat trailers parked in driveways or in the front of the dwellings, over night, nor may they be stored in the front of a lot on any permanent basis. Any such storage must be in the rear of the dwelling, out of sight from passersby.”
Some residents have boats, but live on a corner lot. They store their boat in their back yard where it can’t be seen by passersby in front of the house. It can obviously be seen by every other angle due to the location of their house. I have a large back yard with no houses behind me which ends in a hill, allowing me to store anything in the back yard. Nothing can be seen unless passersby are on the side of my property.
Some people have blatantly disobeyed obvious rules of our HOA and are claiming a number of us are not complying with the rules since they can see boats, campers, trailers, etc. from angles other than the front of the homes.
Should the statement “Any such storage must be in the rear of the dwelling, out of sight from passersby.” alleviate home owners from the issue of seeing items from any angle other than the front of the house? Actual definitions are too vague and I’d like some professional opinions from realtors or others involved in HOA-related issues.

What is your definition of a travel or traveling job?

a) A full-time job with alot of traveling involved? eg: Pilot, traveling nurse, truck driver etc, tour-guide, journalist
b) A working holiday? eg: teaching English, au pair, picking fruits, seasonal jobs in Alaska etc
c) Freelancing while traveling? eg: Doing writing, photography, designing, programming, or translation while traveling.
d) Job in the Travel related Industry – eg: Tour guide, tour bus driver, resort worker, theme park worker, cruise ship jobs etc
e) Volunteer work? – or is this totally out of the picture
f) Travel Agency business? Allows people to travel and run their business at the same time.
Which of the above would you relate more to a “Travel or Traveling Job” or is it a combination of all of the above?
