Obama is way up in the polls – and they are now even in Florida, North Carolina, OH, and Obama has VA and CO (various polls may yeild different results, but they all show large gains for Obama).

What do you think failed for Mccain?

1) Suspending the Campaign before he didn’t
2) Palin’s bizarre answers to the most recent Curic interview (“I read it all”)
3) Debate bounce hold over
4) General mishandling of the bailout/rescue unrelated to ’1′ above
5) David Letterman
6) Rise in violence in Iraq
7) All the great questions the Obama-bots are asking on YA 8) All the foolish smears and rumors the McCain-ites are spreading on YA.
9) It’s the economy, stupid, again?

I’ve always wanted to go to Big Sur since reading Jack Kerouac’s book. Can someone tell me what it’s like to stay there- are you best to hire a car and travel round yourself, is it realistic (excluding the weather) to camp there, is it as expensive as it seems, what would you suggest? Is it easy and cheap or expensive to hire a camper van? We’d probably be going October/November time- we’re not the type of people who need the sun to shine to enjoy ourselves but if that’s a particularly bad time to go for whatever reason that would be useful to know. We’re not interested in fancy hotels or restaurants (we’d probably just have one or two ‘proper’ dinners out) and need really to keep costs to a minimum once we’re there because we’d be flying from the UK. We just want to go somewhere beautiful to see it, spend as much time in the sea and on the beach and in the forest as we can and just chill out really. Thanks.

Obviously I’d train up for it but I’m just wondering if this would even be feasible. I’d start Memorial Day at the Tennessee-North Carolina border and walk until I got to the Mississippi River and Memphis. Thing is, I’d have to finish around mid-to-late August, when college starts back up (this would be a “senior trip” kind of thing for me)

I think that if I were to walk 15 miles a day I could do it. I’d be camping a lot though. What do you think guys. Is this a feasible idea?

Ok, what people miss here is that the Pacquiao camp is not completely dismissing the idea of an olympic-style drug test (only the blood test part actually), they just don’t like the time which is 30 days before the fight. It will interfere with the training program of Manny. Now you might say that it will affect Floyd too, but it is Manny who needs to retain and gain power in their match. Furthermore, when Pacquiao had his blood taken before the Morales fight, he lost that night. You can’t blame Manny if he thinks that taking blood before a fight affects his performance, superstition or not.

So would it be fair to you if the drug testing is done right after the fight? This will prove if Manny is juicing up, which is just a complete baseless accusation in the first place, and at the same time not interfere with the training program. They can make a corresponding penalty if Manny (or Floyd) is proven to be juiced up, win or lose.

Of course, I understand if you will not be in favor of this idea as well, because Floyd (or Manny) might claim he doesn’t want to get beat up first before knowing that his opponent is on steroids. But this seems to be the fairest possible demand, as it will not affect the training camp whatsoever. Take note, this kind of testing is not a standard practice in professional boxing, and if the Pacquiao camp does this, it is simply because they adhered to the demands of the Mayweather camp.

Your thoughts?
P.S. I am only pertaining to the blood test. All other drug test should still pursue on their normal schedule as usual.
@Jay R
Obviously the vial of blood didn’t cause him to lose, but it could lead to teh “superstition” that it might cause him to lose. And Manny didn’t say anything like that, I and some others just speculated on it. Show respect to the man who has achieved a lot in the sport through his hard work.
@alex

i went to Camp Lutheran in indiana this summer and met this guy. His name was Mathew, but he wanted me to call him matt. We got to know each other over the week. we spent every minute of our free play together at the archery range. the 3 really stupid girls from my cabin said he liked me. i didn’t think that they were right. and the same thing happened to matt. every one said that we were flirting with each other. but we were wondering “can’t we just be friends without being boy friend- girl friend?”

so my question is, because i miss him now, was it stupid NOT to give him my e-mail to keep in connect? i get to see him next summer for Tri-C.
i had a dream about him just a few weeks ago.

If one wanted to live without a permanent place of residence, or wanted to travel extensively for a large part of each year, what could they do for a living?

For example, if someone wanted to retire from their “normal” job and spend their time living and traveling in their RV, what careers would be possible? (Assume that they nearly always have telephone and internet access, etc).

Thanks!
