Archive for dress

So I’m going to a summer camp in Orlando, Florida that is an acting camp. It’s hosted by the NYFA (New York Film Academy) and I cannot find out what the dress code is. It’s for teenagers, so I’m guessing it’s not terribly strict, but I have no idea what to pack. Any help?

Dept. of Knockoffs: A Spate of Kates (Original dress to be displayed.) The Metropolitan Museum has assured me that this isn’t going to happen. But when I came upon tomorrow’s article for the Scotsman (online tonight), I couldn’t help but wonder whether The Dress might yet show up as a late addition to the soon-to-open Alexander McQueen show at the Met. (After all, the director, Tom Campbell , speaks the Queen’s English!) Read more on Arts Journal

Can you find me a dress?

Every Thursday night, the counselors at the camp I work at dress up. I’m sick of wearing the same dresses all the time, and I want to buy a new one for next week.
I’d prefer something I can buy in-stores, also preferably under or around $50.00.

My style is pretty much all over the place, but I especially like vintage/mod style clothing. I love the dresses at Modcloth. I’d prefer something that’s not a stretch/clingy/jersey material,, as I’m not super-confident about my body. The dress shouldn’t be like prom or semi-formal dressy, but a nice summery dress.

Links would be especially wonderful.
Thank you!

I seem to remember a war film where the allied prisoners (not sure whether they were British or American) take over the camp and over throw the Germans running the camp. They dress as the Germans to fool the camp inspectors but end up running the camp as the Germans had done so, and even speaking in German whereas some of the Allies end up essentially as prisoners again. Then the Allies liberate the camp and the fake germans protest that theyre actually on the same side, but the test employed to check this claim out was to punch them in the stomach and see whether they swear in English or German. They invariably swear in German and then are treated as Germans. What is the name of this film? Its been bugging me for ages!

I’m going back to summer camp this year, along with all my friends from last year. Last year they had pretty good style, so I wanna show them I have good fashion sense too. What kind of clothes should I bring? i.e. What types of patterns, styles of shirts, etc.
I L0VE fashion, but I wanna make sure I got other peoples opinions ;)
This is the list of stuff to bring, but what TYPE of the stuff should I bring?
List provided by the camp:
Warm sleeping bag & pillow
Jacket, sweater or sweatshirt
Pajamas
Underwear
Socks
Long pants/jeans
Shorts
T-shirts, etc.
One set of nicer clothes for church––nothing too formal, just nicer than “holey” jeans…
One-piece swimsuit
Closed-toe shoes (tennis shoes)
Sandals/flip-flops
Old pair of shoes that can get wet, if you go wading
Brush/comb
Soap/towel/washcloth
Chapstick/sunscreen
Toiletry articles (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
Bible
Mosquito repellent
Pen/paper (for letters home)
Laundry bag
Flashlight
Hat
Optional items such as disposable cameras, etc, may enrich the week(s), but they are not required.
