I will be traveling to Florida from Illinois later this month in a RV and my kids would really like to stop at the ocean as soon as possible. I will be traveling on interstate 95 and it looks like I’ll be near the ocean from Fort Pierce down until our destination in miami. Guess I’m just looking for a truck stop, park or anything within walking range of the ocean capable of parking my 31′ RV. I appreciate any help, thanks.

Anywhere between Oklahoma City and Chattanooga? I love Chilhowee in TN. It is great tent camping 7 miles off the main road and no city lights. I’m looking to go camping with some friends. We will be driving in from different areas of the country. Not looking for back country camping, just something far off the road and away from town.

Thanks!

Looking for a scenic place to ride along a river or ocean that is at least 10 miles long and is relatively uncrowded. (I want to be able to ride fast and look at the view, not look out for people.)

Even better if it also features a good place to kayak and is near small-town-type attractions (unusual boutiques, craft fairs, interesting museums, drive-in movie theater, outdoor concerts, etc.)

And if you know of nearby camp grounds that accept tents, or inexpensive but clean motels, that would also be helpful. (Don’t ask why it’s okay to sleep on dirt in a campground but not okay to sleep on dirty sheets in a motel ! )

Roughly Delaware in the U.S. to southern Canada or the tips of New England would be the longest driving distance I’d consider. The closer to where I live (Albany/Kingston area of New York) the better, but I’m willing to consider flying to other areas if they rent a wide variety of bicycles and I can find cheap air fare. Sell me on your favorite place!
