I live in Baltimore, MD and my back yard is part of Patapso State Park. I can literally walk out my back door and I’m in the park. My question is am I doing anything wrong when I just want to go out there and hike? It would take me 10 minutes to drive to the entrance of the park and check-in with a ranger vs. just going out on my own. Are there rules that I have to follow when in the park or do I need a permit of sorts to be walking around on my own? I’m not fishing or hunting or anything just walking around. I couldn’t find any of this information on their website.

Good places to camp and hike in Oregon?

Posted by: | Comments (1)

I’ll be in the state late next month (& May) and would like to do some camping and hiking. Where are some places/hikes you could suggest? Non-touristy would be best, but I won’t be doing any mountaineering. Car/tent camping or shorter backpacking trips would be ideal. Thanks in advance!

My husband and I are trying to start hiking and camping on the weekends to spend more time together and I would like to know of good hiking areas that we can go and hike and make a campground and have fun in the wilderness.

Hello all. My friends and I want to hike in New Hampshire this weekend, and we want somewhere that back country camping is allowed, because we want to make it a two-day hike. We know the weather wont be so great Friday so we are prepared. We want to be able to pitch a tent and have a fire in the woods, and then wake up early the next morning to hike onto a ridge or summit to see the view. Any suggestions?

So me and my buddy love the movie “Into the Wild” and we really wanna leave Dallas Texas for a bit. We wanna explore nature, through mountains, woods, rivers, etc. We are willing to set up camp and eat our own made food. We were hoping the expedition could happen over the course of 4 days or so. Any ideas? Like stated before we live in Dallas Texas and were looking to take a bus or ride share with someone to near by states such as Colorado, New Mexico, or even somewhere else in Texas. Please give ANY idea you have. THANKS!
Oh and I don’t wanna spend money to join some tour, I just wanna take a bus to somewhere, hitch hike somewhere, then start walking!

A hike through history

A hike through history It was a great vacation: a couple of days in Chicago, four days backpacking on the Appalachian trail, and three days exploring Harpers Ferry, W. Va., one of my favorite places. Read more on The Danville Commercial-News

Hey. I am in a program called c5 youth foundation and it is my third year. All third year students go to Montana and WY for a 13 day trek. 7 days where on campus the other 6 days we break off into groups and go our separate ways. I went on a 4 mile hike a few days ago and it was torture and I held up the whole group. We will have a big camping bag too full of stuff. What can I do to prepare and maybe loose a few pounds.

I need to find a way to do this at the lowest possible price. I am leaving for the Military on October 24th, I am really scared and having a hard time with my life and relationships. I just need something that I can hold with me while I venture into the wilderness. Truth is I just lost the love of my life who I thought I was going to marry, my friends are all addicted to drugs, and I don’t know who I am anymore and on top of that I am going to Basic Training then AIT for Combat Medic, then Airborne school then Ranger school. So right now I got a lot on my plate. I have been hiking before in Colorado I am going somewhere in Maryland or PA this time and actually camping and carrying a ruck for a good week, just something to get away from everyone and have time to find myself before I leave.
I do not have a smart phone or anything of that sort, I have a verizon something that takes pictures and can send them thats about it.
