Hey guys, well I was driving back from the movies last week in my Acura RSX and my car starting bogging down and stalled. I figured immediately the new Cold Air Intake a had installed that sits below the bumper had to be clogged with wet snow so I removed the snow and drove it home although the check engine light was on. It stalled one more time on the way home and I cleared it again and started it and drove it home. Well today I went to drive it for the first time and it started perfectly and sounded fine only I noticed the motor would bog at 6000 rpm when I tried to rev it high. So I check the motor oil and low and behold the oil looked like milk. So I’m planning on changing the oil immediately and I’m wondering if my car is hydrolocked already. It starts fine and runs fine except when I hit the gas (theres no check engine light on anymore either) but when I try to rev it high it bogs down (doesn’t stall though). It doesn’t make any loud clanking noises. A mechanic said I should be fine if I change the oil and a week from now he will come up and remove the spark plugs and injectors and clean it out. Do you think this is a good option or should I have it towed to a repair shop immediately and let them get to work on it asap. Do you think my engine is ruined from what I describe so far (hydrolock) or do you think it can be fixed since it still runs and there’s no check engine light? Any help is greatly appreciated I’m really stressing out that I may have ruined the motor.
