How do I go about taking a road trip out west from New Jersey?
Posted by: | CommentsI am seriously contemplating taking a road trip from New Jersey somewhere out west with a friend of mine. The thing is, I don’t want to go out TOO far, no more than a 5-6 hour drive, so I am considering making our destination a state like West Virginia, Virginia, or Maryland. I don’t want to go north, only south or west.
What I really need suggestions on is how to get to see the real “raw America”. I don’t want big cities or anything urban. If anyone knows any specific spots to pass through that are reminiscent of tumbleweed America, even things like diners, taverns, or campgrounds, places that make you feel like you need a banjo.
And the last thing is, we don’t want anything to do with motels or anything of the sort, so if anyone knows of any places that it would be acceptable to just pitch a tent for the night, and then pack it up in the morning (without going too much out of the way to find a campground designated for CAMPING), suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ANY SUGGESTIONS at all concerning this road trip will be very very VERY much appreciated.
Thank a bunch, guys!
Fishing at Liberty State Park, Jersey City New Jersey – Blue Fish
Posted by: | Comments
August 2010. Went to Liberty State Park for fishing. A beautiful backdrop of Statue of Liberty and New York City skyline. Enjoying nice cloudy weather while waiting for fish to bite. It’s already dark when a big blue fish grab my line so hard and have to fight with it for several minutes. Ran out of video cam battery but was able to get a good shoot of the fishing rod bending and reel line releasing or screaming from the strong pull of the big fish. New Jersey – High Point State Park – Camping – Anyone been here?
Posted by: | CommentsHello! I’m going camping at High Point State Park in Sussex County, NJ. We are planning on drinking alcohol there even though it says its prohibited (we’re all over 21, so no lectures please!). Has anyone been there before and know if they are strict about surprise check-ups?! haha Any information/experiences on this place would be great as well.
Many thanks! <3
Girls Ice Hockey In New Jersey?
Posted by: | CommentsI really wanna learn hockey. I mean I’m a 13 year old girl who lives in Monmouth County in New Jersey. I know how to play the game. I know rules off sides slaps pushes etc. I play right defense. I also play field hockey so I know basic stick movements and I know how to skate. I’ve been skating since I was like 7ish. So, does anyone know of like a clinic or camp or something coming up in like the Summer that I could take. I’d prefer it’d be all girls but if not oh well.
Thanks
