Can they legally kick us off the gravel bar?
Posted by: | CommentsOkay, so this past weekend we went camping at a creek on a county road. We set up on a gravel bar next to the water about 2:00 pm. We swam all day, played with the dogs and kids and then at 9:30 a county sheriff pulled up and said that the owner of the land called and didn’t want us there. But if we all recalled accurately Missouri waterways are bank to bank, so we were in a gravel bar that is part of the waterway, it just wasn’t under water at that time. They made us pack up at 9:30 at night and leave, even though we were quiet, respectful and just having fun. So my question is are we right seeing as it is a Missouri waterway? They can’t control who swims there and hangs out on the gravel bars, so how can they control us sleeping there? We are in a somewhat small town where the cops are arrogant don’t want to take the time to see which is right. Also, if we do have the right to be there do you know where I can find the information in writing so that the next time we go I will be prepared? Thanks in advance!!
We didnt touch the banks. Like I said we were on the gravel bar.
The creek is not privatly owned, the sheriff said that himself. So we were in the creek seeing as we were on the gravel bar.
Also, the creek is maintaned by the county. They keep on the slab and bridge, culverts and at any time they want to come take rock, they are free to do so without anyones permission. If it were privatly owned they would have to be granted permission to do this. (My husband works for county)

What can a legally blind person drive?
Posted by: | CommentsI know it’s an odd question…but what could a legally blind person drive legally?
I am legally blind myself. I keep forgetting my vision numbers. I used to drive a pick up at my camp and never had a problem with that, but I can’t anymore because I don’t have a driver’s license. I have driven go carts before, and gone pretty fast on a quad. I also go horseback riding.
I recently heard about a legally blind person who drives a motor scooter to work. Doesn’t have a license I think. I was doing research last night and it says that in Massachusetts you need a license or a learner’s permit to drive a motor scooter.
My question…is there a motor vehicle that a legally blind person can drive to work, appointments, etc, etc and not require a license to drive?
Anything would be helpful.

Breaking my lease, legally?
Posted by: | CommentsI’d like to leave my current apartment as I’ve had constant problems from it:
1) I have had furniture damaged on my patio from children playing in there. I told the landlord PRIOR to it being damaged that the fence was broken and to please fix it. He did nothing and told me to buy a lock. Once my furniture was damaged from children going through said broken fence, he told me it wasn’t his responsibility.
2) I haven’t had a working stove in over two weeks. They claimed their was a gas leak, understandable. However, I was told said leak was fixed however, I still don’t have a working stove.
I’ve had people in my apartment every single day for the past two weeks who are “fixing” (they literally spend about two minutes there and then leave) while I’m trying to dress for work.
On top of this, the days they have entered without my being there, they have left lights on, the stove was in left “lighting” mode as well once
3) I’ve repeatedly asked my landlord to simply notify me when they’re entering my apartment to fix the stove since, as stated above, they keep coming in while I’m trying to dress for work. They’ve once entered while I was in the shower, I didn’t hear the doorbell, and just came in.
I’m just fed up and would rather move out.
Is there any legal way I can break my lease?

Posted by: | CommentsHow many people can legally reside in a 4 bedroom section 8 duplex in South Florida?
Posted by: | CommentsBecause my wonderful ex-landlord stopped paying the mortgage on the private home I was renting, I had 12 days to find another place to live. I now live in a duplex not far away. most of these duplexes are section 8 eligible, and although I pay rent, my neighbors next door are section 8. I wound up moving into a duplex that has a family (?) of 11 living next door. There are 7 children, the two parents of these children, and two other random adults living in a 4/3. I can hear them 24/7 making noise, screaming at each other, opening and slamming doors, having friends hang out in the driveway in the evening. And now recently, they have been using our patio furniture in the small slab of concrete that we have as a backyard. We’ve spoken to them already about the noise, and the invasion of privacy; but nothing has changed. So herein lies my question, how many people are legally allowed to reside here? Is there anyone I can contact in Broward County regarding the amount of people living in this place?
