You know the ones.
You’d never heard them before, but there was *something* about the vocals, bassline, drums, guitar riff or whatever that struck that inner “musical wiring” all of us have.
You feel *Compelled* to find & own it asap!
Which *songs* can you remember getting that fantastic feeling from? Mention artist of course & if you can, where were you when you heard it.
Few O’ mine:
‘Tarkus’ – ELP (at a music store in Connecticut about 16 years ago. They had it on their pa system & I HAD to ask who it was. Bought it on the spot)
“Fly By Night”- Rush (summer camp in the 80s. Someone was blasting this song in the room next to mine & I loved it. I thought it was Zeppelin!)
“On The Table”- AC Newman (just last year. Found it while browsing on Pandora.com)
Peter V- VERY cool! (& thx!)
“La Rossa”- Van Der Graaf Generator (I *think* while in a rented car about 2 years ago? Man, the last 2 minutes of this were like a religious experience for me)
Do you think Ahmadinejad would listen to Obama’s uncle about the German Camps in WWII?
Posted by: admin | Comments (4)Charles Payne , Obama’s Great Uncle,
But he was one of the first US soldiers to enter Ohrdruf, a sub-camp of the notorious Buchenwald complex.
Because of this family connection, Mr Obama chose to visit Buchenwald during his June 2009 visit to Europe.
“The people were in terrible shape, dressed in rags, most of them emaciated, the effects of starvation. Practically skin and bones.”
“With great difficulty we conversed and, if I got what it was he was telling me about, it was that the Germans had killed a million Jews and that the world didn’t really know this yet.”
Until Barack misspoke about the name of the concentration camp and brought me to the attention of the media, I hadn’t really thought about the war for a long time,” Mr Payne added.
